Barely used here, he will make a roster and be a very good NFL TE.

He has the tools. He has learned to block, as well, even though he isn't a glorified Tackle weighing almost 300 lbs.

Come back and start this after the Bama game. We got a TE coach calling the plays and I can guarantee you that you're not seeing the whole play book. Yes, Smith goes on to the pros if he keeps up his athleticism.

frick our old head coach for never using him.

How this dude didn't have at least 40 catches a season is beyond me.

Not just him. THere's a lot of talent that came through that might have never seen the field. Most despicable part of miles' "legacy"

The fact that Chark wasn't starting day 1 is prime example of them coaching with emotions rather than fact.

Agreed. My prediction:

Belichick will either draft him in the last round of sign his an UDFA. He will have a 7 year career and win two or three rings with the patriots.

Yes. Having a roster full of players who can catch the ball but recruiting and playing QB's who were better athletes than passers. How many fans were like every year?

The guy MAKES PLAYS. Whenever I see him on the field now, even in running downs/distances, I think this would be a great opp to surprise the other team with a TE pass. Smith is a matchup problem for D's, and I hope we continue to leverage his skill set. It is shameful that it took this long, all this LM drama, to finally open up the playbook and get the ball out to various playmakers.

Keep up the GREAT work CEO, GT!

No doubt the best tight end at LSU in a while, underused and well rested for the NFL.

I see Smith as a future star in the NFL for his size, speed and catching ability. Why LSU has not thrown 5 passes a game his way I will never understand. Inside the 10 yard line he is a huge target

Too busy giving those touches to fullbacks, less athletic tight ends, and wr's who can't catch.

Trey Quinn teammate in high school. How would you defend those two guys on Friday night? We have had some very good receivers transfer that would like to be here now.

I think he has a great shot at the NFL. Big frame good speed great hands. I mean we saw how much of a matchup nightmare he can be. He has improved on his blocking and we can also split him out wide. Would hate to be a LB trying to run with him in space.

He has so much athleticism that there is no doubt in my mind that he will be there.

I like how he doesn't go out of bounds but tries to extend the play upfield....Gronk-style
