Yup. Saban galvanizing his north LA grip with the Bastrop product.

Denzel can tell them to look at him on how he cannot make it to NFL and in Losuisna after he chose Bama. He can educate them that they have to move to Bama to have life after college if they fail like him at making NFL

Wasn't Saban ready to give up on Louisiana if he would have lost out on Landon Collins? I thought I read where he had zero luck in the Boot and was ready to focus his resources elsewhere until he landed Collins.

Is that correct?

Don't be ridiculous.

We should immediately name Alabama native JaMarcus Russell to the same position. He and Duvall can both use their NFL career's as selling points.

That sounds just like Saban to give up on something because he wasnt having success at it.

How did Devall not make it in the NFL?

Alabama has great teams, but they do a terrible job of preparing players for the NFL if you look at how much talent they have proportionally.

Devall would be playing on Sundays instead of having an office job at Alabama if he would have gone to LSU. I know he wanted the 3-4 defense at the time, but Saban sold him on being the "Jack" linebacker for his system, instead of actually developing Devall.

How is a placer who never really developed going to speak honestly about player development? Especially when he had so much potential?

It's possible he did develop and he just wasn't good enough. That roster is loaded and has a ton of competition to weed through especially at LB. Also some kids, no matter the physical gifts, just don't make it. There are tons of extremely talented kids every year that don't make it in the league.

Strange that someone that was not developed into an NFL player would be in charge of player development.

Weird to give that job to a guy who just finished school, right?
