quote:

"Me being a guy who played special teams the first three years, that's a punch to the gut," Jones said of the 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by South Carolina's Rashad Fenton last week. "That's like the worst feeling. I can't have that again, so we're going to have to get that together."

Hope so

Hard to believe Debo is a senior. I know he wasn't that highly recruited coming in but I'm kinduv surprised he didn't grab more playing time early on. He's been solid for us this year though.

When you are thin at positions like LB, it shows itself on ST more than on defense.

Debo played in the rotation behind Kwon his first three years and always seemed to do well. He is playing great this year!

he flies all over the field. Solid player. And I'm glad that kick return happened in a game that we still won by a large margin. Can't let that happen against this Florida team

Seems like Lamar Lewis has disappeared this year. What happened to him?

4 year contributor. We'll miss him when he's gone.

For sure, just thought he would get more PT. I saw him on some kickoff coverage though

Well, at least we used to know how to cover kicks

quote:

Between 2005, when Miles took over as LSU's head coach, and 2014, LSU ranked:

Eighth nationally in average opponent distance from the goal after a kickoff (74.2 yards).

Fifth in kickoff returns stopped inside the opponent's 25-yard line (310) and tied for fourth by stopping 38 percent of returns inside the 25.

Fourth in percentage of returns of 30-plus yards allowed (9.5 percent).

There were a couple LBer classes where we signed 3-5 highly recruited guys who didn't really pan out.

Why frick around then? Put Debo back on KO coverage. With Mills back, put D. Thomas out there, too.
