I think for big games at night, TS atmosphere is unmatched.
Unfortunately, we only play 1 or 2 big home games at night per year, if that.

The fact is that I live about a mile from the stadium, have for about 20 years, and gave up my season tickets. Since I live so close, my approach is like this: I ride my bike to campus, party with my friends, wander around campus, buy my tickets and go watch the game and then ride my bike home. I'm usually on the sofa before they get the stats on the post game show. Usually I get my tickets from the tailgate, sometimes not. I never pay over face value, usually quite a bit less.
I prefer to sit in different sections of the stadium instead of the same one all the time. Sometimes this means sitting in the visitors section which is usually fun - except in 2001 when I sat there for the Auburn game.
Miz.

Able.
But there have only been a couple of times I couldn't get a ticket, 1996 Bama and 2009 Florida.

20 years ago we opened with A&M. That year our OOC's were A&M, Colorado State and Tulane.
When I was in school in '88 our OOC's were A&M, Ohio State, Miami and Tulane.
We just didn't see as much suck on the other side of the field back then. But yeah, when there was suck in Tiger Stadium, people left...
...except for that '88 Miami game, EVERYONE seems to be the only ones who stayed, yet I don't remember seeing them around me up in the NEZ. The place was pretty damned empty.

The article isn't touting LSU by measuring us at our worst. It's pointing out that we're better than everyone else when we're at our best.
I try to judge the fans by the same system.

I remember the 2007 opener against Virgina Tech...driving home before kickoff because my goddaughter's stomach virus decided I should die. Despite my impending doom, I sold my tickets at face to an old couple who looked like the used to babysit Moses.
That place was a madhouse. Missing that game was one of my biggest disappointments. There is just something about opening day at Tiger Stadium regardless of who they play!!

LSU has Saints fans that can take away from Saturday attendance (they used their rent money for Saints tickets), whereas I don't know what else Alabama fans have to do on weekends other then watch/attend the Bama game and have sex with their immediate family.
Some "fans" seem to be more concerned with who we are playing rather than watching LSU play.

I doubt it, the fact is TV is driving this. The USC game in 79 wasn't on TV, so if you wanted to watch you had to be in the stadium. I wasn't there, but listening on the radio was a treat... All but the final score.

LSU fans had better watch out because they are going to get the reputation of the Miami fans. Just like the author of this article pointed out the stadium is half empty unless its a big game.

have you ever been to the plains? auburn is loud and very coordinated...even though it is arrived at through pom poms...very badass environment
