Footsteps?

It looked like Jefferson threw another nice ball. And didn't really see the need for him to shove the OM player.

Yeah I think he didn't want to get hit. JJ was throwing some nice passes all night I must say.

Yep, he gave up on the route for fear of getting hit. The OM defender knew it, gave him an earful, and Peterson lost his cool.

It was a nice ball, and don't know why he pulled up. The DB gave him crap for it, and Delo pushed him. Lots of comments on other posts about him being scared of contact. Has anyone heard what his thoughts were on the play?

Are you referring to the interception? Jefferson threw that ball WaY too late. He had the receiver all the way and didn't throw the pass until the safeties came over. And yes, it was under thrown.

I couldn't believe he pulled up. looked like a nicely thrown ball to me. footsteps was the only thing possible I guess. Even then, didn't look like defender was closing that fast.

Worst case of alligator arms I've seen this side of Joey Galloway.

This was not on the interception. It was on the pass that Delo was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for swinging at the Ole Miss defender who gave him an earful for being afraid to get hit. The funny thing is it looked like he would have had room to make a move after the catch without taking alot of punishment.

I had mentioned to my wife earlier, that while he has made a contribution and has caught some good passes, he doesn't seem to have a nose for the end zone, as evidenced by his stepping out of bounds vs. Alabama and two passes caught in the Ole Miss game where some Stevan Ridley effort would have probably produced touchdowns. We scored anyway, so no harm done, but would love to see him be a little tougher.

I also thought he had a chance to score against Alabama on that 4th down reverse and took the easy way out of bounds instead of putting his nose down and driving for the end zone.

Very much agree. He was hurt earlier in the season so maybe he is thinking about that too much.

I'll give him a pass on that, he said that he didn't want to risk fumbling it into the endzone and would let Ridley finish the job.

I like that Will Blackwell was poking DP in the back and chewing him out for that. D. Peterson won't do that again.

i thought it was a good move. remember last year when bama was about to score and their receiver tried to extend the ball over the plane--chad knocked it loose.

now i have no idea about him pulling up. he must have thought he was about to get clocked.

JJ led him right into the safety. If he had caught it he would have been laid out.

That being said, in the NFL they expect you to catch those and take the hit. I realize he's not getting paid to make that catch, but he needs to take that for the team.
