Who are the coaching candidates (mentioned or not) you just cannot get on board with at all?
Mine:
Lane Kiffin - He's an overgrown child with a decent amount of talent but lacking the humanity and common sense to put them in action.
Art Briles - He's a monster in religious, good-ole-boy clothing who would trade anything for the "greater good" of the team.

Don't want!

Don't care. I don't have to interact with him.

Not trying to hijack ... but, I guess I completely missed it when he passed.

Damn ... always liked him.

And one of the GOAT post-game rants.

Briles is just about it.

Briles - dude is nuclear, his career path will resemble petrino
Petrino - only cause of age, don't care for the guy, but he paid his dues
Kiffin - don't really want to be the school to find out if he's grown up

I suppose I don't actually have any except his track records of pissing people off really quickly most places he's been. The USC tenure was way too big for him at that point. He seems to do well at Bama, but Saban has a short leash on him for sure. Again, the guy is talented, but he seemed to run his mouth a lot before he produced which got him into trouble.

Shaw
Mullen

I would hate these hires.

Children grow up eventually. Why do you think the guy keeps getting so many chances? He is clearly a talented coach. Imagine if we were the ones to turn him into an elite, straight-edge coach. We would have dominant offenses for decades.

I can understand this. I don't have full understanding of the situation (no one does outside of Waco) but I think if you were all-knowing you would realize that these sorts of cover-ups happen at every school. It's like paying recruits. Every school does it. It's just part of the deal. A lot of athletes can be thugs. I think Briles took the fall for a situation that went public in a nasty way. He knows his offense. Imagine a Briles offense with Aranda kept on as DC... wow.

I don't really have any deal breakers. I would personally prefer a young, offensive-minded coach. Someone who understands modern offenses, but is also open to putting some older guys on the staff who are experienced and can help him grow-obviously Herman being choice #1 but there are other guys like this out there.

Personally I think we missed out on a homerun guy from last year: Justin Fuente.

Right. You're very in on the whole Baylor subject. I'm sure you've been the lead investigator.

Kiffen- I wanna punch his face

Fischer- Just don't feel he is a slam dunk. Other than playing with Winston he hasn't been impressive. Speaking of Winston, I didn't care for the way that was handled

Pretty much any coach that became "hot" due to having a Heisman quality quarterback / player

Is it bad that the Petrino thing bothers me less than the Briles thing? Time is likely a factor, but I'm not as disgusted by Petrino as Briles.

And thats a bad thing how? Petrino is a very different person than Briles. Very different. Also, Petrino was caught red handed screwing up, no one even knows if Briles is at fault. Im sure youll blame him, but you obviously do not have any inside info to back up your claim other than the usual hearsay from the usual media sources that just spout headlines without any basis.

If youre not willing to look for the truth, then dont comment on it.

Petrino couldn't follow basic work protocols. Briles did what exactly? List the facts about what Briles did. Just wondering if you have any proof, or if the accusations have been proven true at all. You're obviously repeating what you've been told by someone who also doesn't know.
