Dead period hiring of Coach O

During dead period no in-person contact is allowed and only written and electronic communications are still permitted. Taking all this into consideration, dead period ends after today. I believe the hiring of Coach O was agreed upon possibly last week or before and since it was dead period Coach O would be allowed to make all the contact he needed with recruits since the hiring was not official yet. You don't have to follow the rules if you are not officially hired. Anyone not under a coaching contract associated with a university and talk to any recruit an unlimited of times and make as much contact as possible. Just my thought of why the hiring of Coach O came on the last day of dead period.
