Hill will strengthen Blue. As the SEC part of the season rolls in, they need each other to stay fresh AND HEALTHY. That has always been the key. The team needs him not as a star but as an intrigal part of the stable.

Absolutely this

HAVE to have them both as this difficult schedule we have runs its course

If blue wouldn't have been hurt, hill would never have really been given a chance to start.

Had blue, ford, and ware ahead of him.

Just shows that the most talented player sometimes doesn't get to play over the more senior players. Can't say that much with miles players though. Lots of younger players play.

This was the exact issue we were in in 2003 when Justin Vincent and Ally Broussard were running 3rd and fourth behind Shy Carey and Joe Addai. it took both of those guys going down before JV and Ally got significant touches against USCe on the road, and the rest is history.

I love Blue, and since we share the same Alama Mater I am certainly pulling for the guy to have a great year and have a solid shot at making it in the NFL. That being said, Hill looked like a different level back when he finally got touches last year. If it's based on merit alone, I'd be surprised if Hill doesn't overtake him again.

I don't think they have ever taken a snap against the same team. so there is no way of knowing that. Just saying

Anyone who doesn't see that Hill is the biggest difference maker and the best back at LSU since Collins is not watching the same games I am.

I only have reservations about Blue due to his lack of game time against top flight teams when games are still undetermined.

There is a reason Blue was our starter last yr. I believe that reason was it was Hill's first season with the team.

Hill won the aTm game for us and if allowed to touch the ball down the stretch would have won the Bama and Clemson games as well.

Don't be stupid people just last year ya'll was hyping Hill like he was the best back in the country now he is not the best back on the team because he punched a sucker. Blue, who coming off injury and haven't carried the ball in a year better? Only on the rant .

Not saying he is, but I'm surprised Jarvis hasn't been brought up in this little best player debate.

He's not.

Freak is just as good tho. Loston right behind. Copeland awesome as a FB. Then Barrow. I cross my fingers that Ego and Rasco are next. Collins rated very high (top 10) on some draft boards. It's easy to say a RB is the best when he's as good as Hill, but I think people under-rate Freak just b/c he didn't start last year behind 2 pros. We will miss Logan, tho. He was just as good as Freak last year.

I dont get it either. The phrase pound for pound really only applies when being bigger or smaller helps, like in boxing. The argument for Johnson over Hill shouldn't have anything to do with Johnson weighing more.

I'm not sure it really matters who starts. Both will split carries and we'll need them to both have fresh legs late in the season.

Hill seems to really excel in the second half when defenses start wearing down so it might actually make more sense for Blue to get more 1st quarter carries. Let Hill get warm in the first half and let him put the nail in the coffin in the second half.

agreed. i would have said faulk tho. very similar freshman years, but sec has gotten better since '96. addai, DD, hester, and ridley are in the discussion but he compared favorably even to them. true game changer.

This.

People will argue if piss is better served cold or hot and bubbly. A happy byproduct of a society that has too much opinion and not enough sense

Thanks! These nimcompoops don't know what they are talking about.

Compare Freak's numbers with other DTs who are considered tops in the nation and you would be surprised that his is better than most and many of them were starters. People look at his numbers and do not recognize DTs don't have the numbers DEs have. It would be hard to find a non-starting DT with better numbers in all of college football. He is about to BLOW THE F UP!!!!

Yes I think we will miss Logan, but Ego is going to be a huge surprise to a lot of people. A good defensive line isn't determined by the number of sacks they get, but I think our sack numbers go up this year. Ego, Freak, Rasco, and choose a d-end will give us a better pass rush overall than what we had last year. Better pass rush with improved secondary( which I believe will be the case) equates to more time QB's are looking down field, more time they look the more time Freak and company have to get to QB's=more sacks

who has been better since collins? i can't think of any unless it was faulk who was here at the same time as collins. justin vincent freshman year maybe, but we all know how that turned out when he bulked up.

none of which were a 'difference maker'. toefield had the potential to be the best since collins, but had the injury issues. all of those imo were good solid backs, but no real difference makers in my opinion like hill has potential to be with his size and speed.
