It was former LSU defensive tackle Davon Godchaux pulling up in this new black Porsche Cayenne, a mighty fine vehicle that starts at about $60,000. Godchaux is projected to be a 3rd- or 4th-round draft pick in the upcoming NFL draft and I suspect he might have gotten a little advance from his agent. Good for him.

This surprised me a little. I thought Davon got a recommendation to stay in school. If he is projected to be a 3rd or 4th rounder, it should be a no-brainer to go pro.

People need to learn to wait for the nice things in life instead of borrowing to get it...

Not usually the case, but if he didn't think he could improve his draft position and he wanted to get started then more power to him

For guys with a chance to go 1st round the following year leaving early for a mid round grade is a poor decision. They'll tell you it's better to go ahead and get started toward that second contact, but you'll make 10+ million more over your first 4 years if you go round 1. Which is more than your annual salary is likely to be on that second contract anyway, if you beat the odds and get that second contract in the first place.

If he was driving a brand new truck of the same value, would anyone even a bat an eye about it?

The recommendations are 2nd, 1st, or stay in school. The 3rd or 4th round is speculation...not based on the NFL official inquiry.

...very far from a no-brainer.

People will dismiss this as petty and nonsense - but a perfectly healthy person who parks in a handicap space lacks character.

That shows no regard and entitlement when one parks in a handicap parking space. Nice job Davon!

We really need to continue to have an alternative model for 21 year olds, where we stress accumulating wealth while living humbly and deferring gratification. Money spends, wealth grows. There is a kind of cool status with being an earner that lives well below his means . And as for living large before you've earned it, that's misprioroty and ego. Just consider driving a regular car until year four when you are established like a self confident boss instead of a guy who needs ego gratification and thinks he's won the race because he's standing at the start line.

1. Cayenne, while a nice car, is no more expensive than a new loaded Tahoe or Truck. I doubt this thread would exist if the vehicle was a Ford F150 Platinum.

2. Handicapped parking regulations are a joke. Who gives a frick? Maybe he just ran in for a second?

As someone who had a handicapped parent that hated parking in these spots even though he needed to, go frick yourself for the parking spot remark.

Everybody is down voting you because it's true. How can they even tell it's "brand new" anyway. Might be a 50k car. I know idiots who make much less than what Davon will get and still have a car of that standard. Half a mill a year will pay it off just fine.

What does this have to do with anything? All this says is that there are a lot of dumbasses paying $65,000 for a Chevy or a Ford Pickup that cost $25,000 just 10-15 years ago. At least Godchaux can afford it.
