based on his other years, yes, it is an outlier. It is a fact.

Why bring it up anyway? That's what I'm getting at. Losing only one game is always an outlier for over 90% of teams. How many teams, over the past 5 years, have at least one season where they lost less than 2 games? Then, how many of those teams have done it multiple seasons?

Saying that it's an outlier doesn't do anything to negate the effect of the overall effort.

8-5 is an outlier as well, but then again you have more idiots (fans and media) pushing that than the more common, and still highly successful, 10-3 or 11-2 records.

Don't be a dumbass, it's obvious stupid media nonsense. Auburn also went 4-4 and lost their bowl game as well. How is TAMU predicted 5th or 6th by most "analysts" when their situation is damn near identical to TAMU?

No, they have decided the lemming route. Almost unanimously pick one team to under achieve badly, and unanimously predict one team to over achieve badly despite no logical reasoning to do either.

Thanks again for being brainwashed by it every year.

Dude.

Use your head. The obsession with wanting respect from the national media crossed with your stupid explanation about auburn and atm expectations leaves me wanting more than what you've just drivelled.

What in the entire frick are you talking about by the " lemming rout" and why do you care what they say about lsu?

There need to be results on the field this year.

Les has recruited well, and hopefully developed his talent well. Hopefully he can tell the majority of the fan base "chill the frick out y'all, I got this"

It's part of a conversation I was having on the SECrant, and it ties into the nonsense you wrote.

-Auburn and TAMU both finished 8-5 last year.
-Both brought in top 10 defensive coordinators to fix their problems. -TAMU has Garrett, Auburn has Lawson (both DEs).
-Both will have good QBs, and both will become more balanced.
-Auburn is planning on increasing its passing game, TAMU its run game.

Auburn in predicted a 1 loss team. Auburn is predicted #1 or #2 in the West. Auburn is predicted West champ. Auburn is predicted SEC champ. Auburn is predicted playoff participant. Most of the media is gushing over Auburn, but at the same time saying TAMU will be 5th or 6th in the West? How does that make any sense? The two teams are near identical with what they are going to do over the offseason, yet one is predicted almost unanimously fighting for the top, and one is predicted unanimously fighting to not be at the bottom.

THAT ties in to you nonsense about 'Until les miles does better than mediocre in the sec, you will continue to see 4-4 predictions from college football analysts'. Did Auburn NOT just do mediocre in the SEC? Did they NOT lose 4 of their last 5 games? Why is their situation so different compared to others in the division?

The 'lemming route", you know what a lemming is right? Media is falling in line one network, one site, one journalist, one analyst at a time. Pushing the same nonsense instead of looking at things objectively.

Wtf?

You didn't expect me to actually know that you wrote something on the sec rant, or anything of value, did you? Or is this a shameless plug for guys to go read some profound "article" you wrote somewhere else? I don't really care.

My first point is, (which you haven't grasped) I don't care what Au and atm did.

We are talking about lsu. Not atm.

The second point is, who cares what ESPN says anyway?......besides bama fans, no one cares that the media doesn't pick their team to win the whole thing.

Get a clue and stop advertising some crap you wrote on another board.

he then went on to say that his Cinderella team was aTm this year because of Chavis. Good lord.

It won't take long for 3rd and Chavis to sour A&Mers to try and void the contract and force LSU to take him back.
Also, don't see how Sumlin contacting Chavis while he was under contract without LSU's permission is not tampering on Sumlin's part.

Did he break down LSU's roster to show several spots where they are overrated? Or is he just assuming more shitty QB play? Because if Harris comes through as a solid SEC QB, there will be nothing overrated about LSU.

You must not know what "outlier" means. Miles win distribution:

13: 1 time
12: 1 time
11: 3 times
10: 2 times
9: 1 time
8: 2 times

That's pretty close to a bell curve. That's a normal distribution, without an outlier. It would actually be shocking if a coaching who won 10-11 games 5 out of 10 seasons DIDN'T have a 13-win season on the resume.

The distribution is normal, but aren't the extremes considered outliers?

Pollack deserves to die. Someone destroy him and bring proof of his demise to be displayed in Death Valley on opening day.

frick Pollack, he is a butthurt count.
frick Saban, he hasn't coached at LSU in 11 years, so frick what he did. Stop bringing him up.
frick ESPN, they hire wash ups to get under everyone's skin for ratings.

Tigers are going to whip some arse, and take some names. Just sit back in your recliner your parents gave you 15 years ago and enjoy the show.
