I haven't seen much attention given to the fact that LSU lined up in a formation that looked a lot like the flexbone against SC on the play below.

Given GA Southern's big day against Bama a few years ago, who thinks LSU will use more of this in the game this week?

... I'm not sure but I fully expect more than one wrinkle this week (i.e., Fournette throwing).

personally i love the triple option play when we run it with another RB at FB

We did it a little in 2011 with Hilliard and ford.

I am not sure if that was a real triple option or just a hand off with a bit of deception in the back.

But i like it, and i like the speed option with Harris and Fournette too.

I think we will see Fournette slide out into the slot and help open up some holes for Williams and Guice. Kind of like how the Saints use to use Bush as bait

what we did in 2011 was a speed with a lead blocker. specifically late in the 1st Bama game, it was Hilliard at FB and Ford as the pitch man.

there was another option look we broke out in the bowl game vs ND where we were in the gun with 2 TBs. one motioned out a little presnap and the other (I think Magee) took the handoff from the QB for a dive. QB and motion/ pitch man continued the option to the outside look.

I remember a bit of a variation on that play on that early in the McNeese game. Guice was the motion/ pitch guy, Brosette the dive man, and Harris threw Guice a screen.

This is going to be a real weapon for us next season. They have been bringing Brandon along slowly but once the game truly slows down for him, he will be lethal on those run/pass option plays.

Hilliard got carried from a set with him at FB and Ford at RB, in the Tennessee game.

It looked like a triple option to me (of course i will never know what the actual call is if it was just Hillaird all the way)

that being said, i am sure we did speed with a lead blocker too.
