being told that he didn't have have a spot on a very wide open team next year has to be crushing for zardon. paul treated him like crap the whole year this past year.

I honestly wonder where Turtle found some of these guys he brought in. The 2001 team was easily one of the more difficult ones to root for.

We're going to need a sub 2.00 ERA next year to have a chance to get in the SECT.

Don't worry. Paul is working on cloning Lange twice.

Oh, you zip it, Doris! Rogers Hornsby was my manager, and he called me a talking pile of pigshite. And that was when my parents drove all the way down from Michigan to see me play the game. And did I cry?

Well, I mean, being a state school and all, we can't compete with schools like them and Vanderbilt.

By all accounts, if Mainieri takes a dislike to you early, you might as well just go ahead and put in your papers. Getting out of his doghouse is no easy task no matter what you do when given a chance.

He must've missed Florida cause why wouldn't he just go to LSUE for a year then come back? Just doesn't make sense

Yes finally the end is near. No one would want to play for the Coach that would choke then throw you under the bus to make himself look bad. Finally

Once a player leaves, that bridge is burned. There is no coming back.

Well for starters he's going to be a junior this year.

Does anyone else feel like there is more to the story than Zardon and Byrd just transferring for playing time?
8 of the 9 starters leave and thats not enough opportunity?
Something smells funny. Not sure what though.

I'm LMAO at all the goobers on here that take Mainieri's version of this (or any other story really) as gospel. Seriously?

Next Advocate sports section headline:

"Mainieri Brags About Making His Pud a Foot Long By Cutting It In Half; Rant Believes Every Word"

Lets be honest. 97% of the time, if an athlete transfers, its because of playing time.

We will never know the whole story, but IMO Zardon is not a good enough player to guarantee playing time. I'm also not going to hold anything against Zardon for transferring, you Junior year is the most pivotal for any collegiate baseball player.
