We just lost our 2nd best returning bat... on a team that will lack hitting... I'm freaking out.

eh I figured that batting would suck whether or not he was in the lineup or not...that's how bad hitting will suck next year

Mainieri may be oversimplifying it, but that's a little dumb on Zardon's part if true.
We're not even in fall yet, nobody really has a everyday spot locked up at this point.

So you're saying he didn't have to go as far down the list as I thought?
Is Mainieri that tough to play for? Do we have some ridiculous prospects coming in? Why would two possible starters up and leave?

It happens all the time... and when a coach actually needs a player, he'll lie or beat around the bush. PM must not have felt he needed Danny.
