I have seen many critical comments on this board regarding the dandy one and am somewhat perplexed at the envy that must drive some of the comments. However, I finf the following comment regarding the recruitment of Greg Robinson...

quote:

In football recruiting news, Greg Robinson (OL, 6'6", 300) from Thibodaux has committed to play for the Auburn Tigers. Losing Robinson is a major loss for LSU, but, as the saying goes, you can't win them all. Auburn has a very aggressive recruiting staff led by Trooper Taylor who played his college football at Baylor. I know that LSU recruited Robinson as hard as the NCAA allows but came up a little short.

Well stated, Dandy.

That's why I never pull for SEC teams who recruit against LSU. I hope Oregon Skull fricks Auburn.

Dandy is not one to pass judgment like that. He usually keeps stuff like that to himself.

yea, it's a good thing most people are honest. i am so pissed at auburn i just can't see straight with them. i am seriously hoping when they get caught they get thrown out of the SEC. i have never really hated a team before this (just football hate).

This. I don't pull for SEC teams unless it helps LSU or I have some admiration for them. I have some respect for Bama I have none for Auburn and never really have. I to hope Oregon skull fricks them but I don't think it will happen.

Listening to interview with Mike Detillier who said Robinson sees an opportunity to play immediately @ AU considering all the departing OL players from AU.

Since SEC teams are connected at the hip financially in the tv contracts, bowl money, and the like, you are kinda cutting off your nose to spite your face.

There is a reason ESPN and CBS pay to the SEC what they do and it's not cause of the success of one SEC football team, it's cause of the success of the SEC.

LSU is as successful as any SEC fooball team in the last decade. So the success of a Florida or a Bama or a Auburn doesn't really seem to have bothered us all that much and it's cause of the power within the SEC that SEC teams have a chance of making it 5 in a row and 6 of 8 with 2 of those belonging to LSU.

I don't think envy has anything to do with it. That said, nice burn.

Even so, the winner and loser of the BCSCG gets the same pay. I always pull for an SEC team to make the game and get that biggest payout of the bowl season for the SEC. However, once they make that game, unless that team's home is Death Valley, USA...well let's just say, the Ducks can fly over my blind all during that game.

One more thing, the SEC's TV contracts do not hinge on whether Auburn wins or loses this BCSCG. So, if you got any amount of Purple and Gold flowing through those veins, you are a Duck fan in this game. Otherwise, go hang out with Trooper Taylor, drinking those candy-arse lattes while picking ticks out your arse in Auburn, Alabama.

Auburn will bring in the same number of dollars to the conference whether they win or lose the NC game.
