C's Offense: "ACC is weaker" and RClark's "It's for weaker personnel" do not make sense

Ryan Clark says that Canada's offense is for a team with "weaker personnel." Now applying elementary logic, whatever offense you are running, if "weaker personnel" can run it successfully, then more talented personnel should run the offense even better. If not, why not?

I've seen a lot of posts dredging up the excuse that "the ACC is weaker than the SEC." Well, first of all, that's debatable in 2017.

But for the sake of argument, let's say the ACC is considerably weaker than the SEC. Who have we played so far that are SEC powerhouses?

Mississippi State is an SEC creampuff, as their performances after they waxed us show. They stopped this offense. Syracuse and Troy State are hardly "SEC" and Canada's offense looked bad.

How did Canada take his offense and ring up points against Clemson like a Winn Dixie cashier ringing up five baskets of groceries? Are we saying LSU can't run an offense successfully that Pitt could run? Why, if that's the case?

Either 1) This is not Canada's offense or 2) LSU cannot run an offense that Pitt could run and we'd be better off wholesale trading our personnel for Pitt's 2016 offense. I thought Canada was salivating about running his offense with LSU's talent.

I guess a third alternative would be they haven't learned it yet, but what the hell have they been doing all spring and summer?

But for reasons above, the "ACC defenses are weaker" and "this offense is for inferior teams" just do not make sense.

Maybe the players at Pitt were
Talent < Football IQ
While here is
Talent > Football IQ

So I don’t think it’s an issue with talent. It’s execution, or the lack of passion

I assume the idea is similar to the triple option.

Love Ryan Clark but I disagree. No offensive system will thrive when u struggle with the run and pass. He has had just a few months of actually teaching these players the offense. He deserves a chance to run his system. They may just catch on and end up pretty good offensively

We should be in a more spread type offense we have to many weapons to keep them bottled up I'm tired of seeing.a two wr set the more we spread teams out the more openings in their defense is going to have

Ryan Clark is a dumbass. He reminds me of the in living color character that used big words improperly all the time.

We have a lot of dumb players. It's not that hard to figure out.

This is what I think. The question is, why haven't the coaches addressed this issue before now? Are LSU players that much dumber than Pitt players? What is it?

As one poster correctly stated, it's like the triple option..."the talent equalizer". When you don't have the horses to line up and pound the ball or the talent to throw downfield, you come up with deception and sleight of hand. Clark was merely saying that it's an offense predicated on gimmicky motions and a reliance on defensive confusion more so than sound football principles. But what happens when the defenses aren't confused?

I will say this. I thought I saw a ton of potential in the spring game because there were so many plays where I wondered “who’s got the ball?” If it did not completely fool a defense, i thought it would sure keep a D honest.

We haven’t seen that spring game offense. It’s just useless motion, then a predictable handoff or pass.

Defenses are penetrating the line....and staying in their gaps...

That’s why we can’t run an offense....

Question everyone should be asking is...why are the defenses penetrating our line so easily...???

Pitt had some good players, and they played harder than we have.
