If you watch all of his free throws, he misses them the same way, high and back of the rim. This is because of where he releases the ball. The ball is brought from his waist to over his head, causing the shot to have to be darn near perfect. This should be corrected with minor adjustments. It's better than him missing because his shot is going left, right, long, short, etc.

He was nearly perfect. He missed 9 out of 10.

I chalked it up to knocking off some rust from not playing. Still all 40 of us at the game were cringing after the 6th consecutive miss

Well Calipari's teams are notorious for poor free throw shooting. It's basically repetition and maintaining composure. it should be a prerequisite for college basketball players. As mad as I am at Jones that's not one of the reasons

Dude hasn't played a competitive game in a year and hasn't shot live free throws in at least that long. He has a good stroke and has good range. I bet he'll finish the season shooting around 55-60% from the line.

What I hadn't played ball in 15 years and could hit 6 out of ten. These guys are supposed to be some great players.

Shooting free throws doesn't have anything to do with playing in competitve games. It is good technique, lots of practice and the ability to get mentally focused.

55 to 60% is still terrible free throw shooting from a guy who calmly guns in a long three. It drives me crazy that a college player can't shoot free throws. I know little junior high players that can shoot 80 to 85%. Every college player should shoot at least 70%.

6-10 would've been nice. 16 points would've have made the rant go crazy.

That's a shitty excuse for why he missed free throws. Its not like he hasn't stepped on a court in a year, he's still made every practice.

I told a b ball coach tonight that I could bounce in at least 2/10 with left hand at charity stripe. Victor pretty much doesn't care nor does Jj since he wasn't taken out of the lineup. Hey bozos on board about rust, don't they practice free throw shooting at practice!!

So he's had plenty of time to practice his free throws. Right? I love what Victor brought to the table and he seems like he's just what LSU needed but his free throw shooting was literally pathetic. Has to improve. If he can shoot around 60% he can be a 14 and 8 kind of guy in SEC play imo. Perfect compliment down low to Simmons

Victor will be lucky to shoot 50% on year. Let's see if Jj gets in fight with player like dale brown did with tenn player that aggressively fouled shaq back in the day

He should use SHAQ as a free throw coach. Shaq looks amazing compared to Victor
