He's talking about how the SEC dominates the NFL in most players and in speed positions.

Probably not. Cowherd has a small habit of taking things off the internet, and just running with it.

I am pretty sure Louisiana leads the nation in most NFl players from that state.

not overall. california, texas and florida all produce far more talent. just not in relation to their population size.

Right. One of the reasons why SEC schools dominate cfb is b/c the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida all rank in the top 10 (on a per capita basis) in producing both D-1 players and NFL players.

For the past few years Mississippi has led in NFL players per capita.

doesn't surprise me. it's between us and them.

low education rates = high per capita football players

People are always touting these statistics.

Let me help everyone out:

Higher percentage of African Americans residents = higher percentage of residents put in NFL.

Look at the leaders in per capita NFL output. District of Columbia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama. . .Notice a trend. It doesn't mean we as Louisiana residents are more bad-arse or have better high school football. It just means we have a higher percentage of black residents.

Didn't we just have an article 2 days ago that said the Big X had the most starting WR's in the league? Isn't that a skill position?

The SEC is also one of the leagues that has 12 teams, but Cowherd probably didn't say anything about that.

True enough, but I'll bet Vandy accounts for no more than one or two NFLers at any given time. A better way to look at these figures would be to take the total number and divide by 12, 11, 10, or whatever for the average number of players put out per team in each conference. I suspect the SEC would still lead by a significant margin.

Well but why are we taking out Vandy from the SEC, and not a team in the middle, like Tenn, Auburn, or someone like that? You can't take away the worst team in the conference and then average. Take away the 6th or 7th team and then do the average and it's probably very close.

Vany and Ole Miss = Northwestern and Indiana

divide your totals by 11, divide ours by 12. we still have more than you on a per team average.
