1. Is this a reviewable call in CFB? If so I guess it would be on Les to challenge?

2. It sure appeared that it was batted back and hit around the 2 yd line then the UF covered it and moved it to 1/2 yd. Sure seemed like the refs f'd up the spot.

I was complaining about the same. I'm under the impression that the person nor Ny part of the ball can break the plane to the end zone and it looks as if both happened. And I've seen that call challenged and reversed multiple times.

Ball cant break the plane, the player can be standing in the endzone. Only the ball matters.

Player that hits it can be standing in the endzone, as long as the ball doesn't cross the plane it's not a touchback.

The BALL is the only thing that matters in NCAA Football, and it didn't appear to cross the goal line. A player can be in the EZ with part of his body.

I'm college the ball cannot break the plane. Doesn't matter where the player is as long as he isn't out if bounds.

NFL is opposite

Pretty much what has been said already. Florida played it pretty much perfect by standing at the edge of the plane to make sure the ball didn't cross over. Though it makes sense why we would think that downing a ball at the 1/2 yard line would be cheating given what we've seen so far this year.

I know the rule just curious why it wasn't challenged by the booth or Les.

Also it appeared the ball was batted back to the 2 and then eventually settled around the 1/2 yd line. I thought the ball would have been spotted at the farthest point it was batted back and hit the field of play.

Thanks for the clarification. Great play on their part then.

I think even if it was challenged, you weren't going to get a camera view that came close to the view the line judge had. That's a situation where you go with the call on the field.

It's where the ball is touched not where it ends up.

ESPN didn't bother to show us a view down the goal line, I didn't catch it if they did show one. The way the guys in the booth were sucking up to FL made me turn the volume down so that I couldn't make out what they were saying.

Those dickwads didn't have a good camera angle on it so we will never know. The ref was standing right there so there is no way he missed it.

If it doesn't matter where the player is standing, why do the players always jump in the air in order to bat the ball backward to avoid stepping in the end zone? Why don't they just stay on their feet and just make sure the ball doesn't break the plane? I know this is supposedly what the rule says, but I'm curious as to why the players seem to think as well that their feet can't be on the line or in the end zone when knocking the ball back.

I don't understand how in 2015 we still do not have cameras looking directly down each goal line. With all the billions made by NCAA & the networks, not spending a few thousand on extra cameras is ridiculous.

The official was standing on the line less than 10ft from the ball. There's no way it would have been overturned.

I was hoping LF would set a school record that would never be broken .... could be tied.... but never broken.
