No, really, President Obama really did stay there when he came to BR a few months ago. Completely serious.

I'll have to confirm that before I believe you :)
Really looking forward to my first LSU game. We get a game played in Ireland every year but I really can't wait to sample the biggest stage.

I checked it out... If it's good enough for him it's good enough for me :)

Yeah, we kinda screwed him when he came. Not really sure why he stayed there, but I think everything downtown was already booked or something.
What LSU game are you coming to?

I love these threads because I know they have high expectations, but they really dont know how much fun they're going to have. Too bad you can't make it for the Bama game, but regardless you'll remember it for the rest of your life.
Another tip: dont ever mention corndogs.

I predict there will be a child running around in a few years with an Australian daddy. Catholic girls and all...

I guarantee this will be a highlight of your trip.

South Alabama. I know it's a package win but I just really want to get to Tiger Stadium. It tied in with our Louisiana holiday.
I really hope it's a night game. Looking forward to tailgating with strangers. Louisiana people seem to be like us Irish, very friendly and love a party.

The rent-a-wins over the past couple of seasons have been night games, 6:00 kickoff or later, so that looks good to continue. SEC games can get chosen by CBS for their 2:30 slot, but the rent-a-wins never do. I'm actually thinking about making the Southern Miss game my annual trip to Tiger Stadium this fall partly because of that. I went to the Auburn game last year, and was harshly reminded of why we don't like day games in September.

LSU Tailgate motto: The liver is evil. It must be punished.

Yo, I was just kidding about the Coates men's room. You'll have a blast just wandering around campus.

Please don't bring any basketball players with you.

Gotta read through all this again but for those hosting tailgates and happy to have a couple of aussies visit please let me know, my liver has been warned in advance!

Make sure you find the biggest cajun you can, slap him on the butt, then kiss his woman on the lips. It's a tradition. He'll just smile while giving you a high-five. He'll even buy you lunch.

Dude, for an Austrian your English is great.
Seriously, have a great time, just don't try to walk from campus to the City Center or vice versa.
Thanks for coming and Geaux Tigas!
