Here is the second installment of Spotlight: LSU Basketball. I'm featuring the Jack-Of-All-Trades, Shavon Coleman. While he will likely see decreased minutes, he will be an important piece to this team.

#5 Shavon Coleman

He should do well at the 3.. Can he play some 2 if necessary?

My only problem with him at two is I don't think he shoots the three ball well enough. But truly, he could in a bind. I call him a Jack-of-all-Trades because he can play from down low to the perimeter. I think his experience down low last year with help him play more physical outside this year.

Also want to note he scored:

Over 10 points in 15 games
Over 15 points in 7 games
Over 20 points in 3 games

He had over 10 rebounds in 5 games

He had more blocks than anyone under 7 feet tall.

Front line is stacked, going to ambush some teams with our length. Would be awesome if Coleman developed a consistent corner 3 point shot, he's already a terror on the baseline.

I love his ability to play on the baseline. Definitely a huge positive to his game. He hugs the line and can put the ball in around the backboard.

I'm not sure how Coach Jones is going to deal with the 3 spot but it is likely that Coleman will start a few games there to get the season kicked off. I know we have heard alot about Martin playing the three spot so it will probably end up being his spot. Either way, no reason Coleman doesn't get 15 minutes a game.

great in press/trap, big enough to fight down low, athletic enough to run the court and score easy baskets in transition.
His ability to finish at the rim was unmatched by any of our guys last year.
Another big piece to this roster!
