If we beat BAMA, we'd both have two SEC losses. BAMA's losses would be to us and a team we beat. No way BAMA stays ahead of us in any poll. BUT, no way anyone is man enough to drop them very far. If they make them 12, we'd have to be ten. If they're ten, we'd have to be 8 or 9. As long as we don't lose, they can't kiss BAMA's arse without Kissing ours.

Did the playoff get extended past 4 teams already? Because if not I don't really see your point.

It really pisses me off. Kentucky going into the LSU game: "They are a really good team." LSU beats them: "Kentucky wasn't as good as we thought they were, and oh, LSU is getting a little better." Same thing for OM. Very little respect for LSU getting better. Mostly talking about "Bad Bo" not even acknowledging that LSU's defense was the main reason Bo was bad. From here on out, LSU beating teams will drag them down more than it drags us up. Guess there's a huge Katy Perry factor out there.

We beat Bama? They'll just trash them, saying they're worse than expected, but they'll quickly follow that up with it's very un-Bama like, and they'll be back next year, or maybe even next week.

You mean the way Arizona beat Oregon, they both have the same records and Oregon is 5th and Arizona is 14th? Or are you talking about like Ole Miss beating Alabama, both having the same records and Alabama is 3rd and Ole Miss 7th?

I see your point. But like I said their losses would be to us and a team we beat. That would just be shameless at that point. Can't imagine the committee over looking identical record, head to head competition and common opponents.

This will be a difficult game, but if LSU wins who really has Bama beaten...WVU I guess is the answer, and if they beat LSU...LSU has three losses. This Bama team may get better, but right now they are not that good. Clearly they are still media darlings.

i think LSU beating bama would finally open some eyes. it would be their second loss in 5 games, with a 14-13 win over Arkansas in there too, and their 4th straight loss to teams in the top 20, from a team that starts 17 juniors and seniors taken from 4 straight number 1 recruiting classes.

people might finally come to realize saban isnt the god some pretend he is. hes a top 10 coach, nothing more. if hes so great with DBs, how come hes never produced anyone as good as Peterson and Tyrann. the run hes been on is simply what happens when a very good coach goes to a program that almost got the death penalty for buying players.

When we beat Bama, they will talk about their lackluster road performances throughout the season. No one wants to mention that LSUs defense is quickly becoming the vaunted D of old.

i actually think this might be the one time they cant pull that shite, theyve simply built bama up too much for too long.

Beating Bama will vault your program...period. Especially a perennial powerhouse like LSU. OU got a huge preseason ranking from beating them last bowl season. OLE freaking MISS got a HUGE bump.

Teams still get a huge bump from beating us...we're still a measuring stick. Some negafricks might no agree though.

They can't do that. They spent all weekend proclaiming them the best one loss team.

We are not exactly being disrespected. Sure, we are not the media darlings the Gumps are, but we are by far the highest ranked 2 loss team. They even bumped us ahead of several 1 loss big name programs. I personally think a win over Bama quite possibly vaults us into the Top 10.

Don't think we necessarily get disrespected. Just feel that BAMA will always get the benefit of the doubt, more so than anyone else. They are this era's Miami/USC. But I think if we beat them, we'll be in a position to benefit from any bias in their favor. They never drop far when they lose and lazy people love to edge them back up in the polls. But, if we don't lose, they just can't be edged ahead of us.

I see the point you making but go back and look how many times teams have lost to another team and stayed ahead of them in the polls. It would 100 percent happen gurantee.

I see your point. Auburn has one loss, to the undefeated #1 team in the nation. Bama's loss is to a 1 loss #7, yet all the talking heads have Bama ahead of Auburn? And Oregon ahead of Arizona St.? The team that beat them? With the same record! makes no sense

How about Auburn being behind Bama in the polls with their only loss to the #1. Bama lost to the #7 team and are now ranked ahead of Auburn?

Eta: someone just mentioned this above
