I think they will over pay for chavis, they probably will pay out his buyout. I hope they get what they are willing to pay for. Chief other option is to work as a consultant for A&M and become their defensive coordinator in 2016.

While I doubt anything Chavis is doing is against the rules, Orgeron wasn't officially recruiting for LSU like Chavis is for A&M.

Not that Chavis recruiting is a concern anyway.

No you have to give credit where credit is due, the Aggies did get him to stop and take a picture with recruits on his way to the cafeteria.

Chavis's son a lawyer, took care of all his dealings with A&M and contract details. His son overlooked the LSU contract?

It's possible that certain details in the contract were overlooked

This and aggie fans trying to act like 3rd and Chavis isn't a real thing amuses me.

Newsflash: it's real. Ask any Tennessee or LSU fan who pays attention.

He won't have to pay the buyout.

He didn't resign until January 5th and his buyout went away on jan 1st

So if A&M doesnt pony up for Chavis, this is on him?
If so, that pretty much eats up that raise they gave him. I hate to say it, but i just did a Miles chuckle.

There is definitely something strange about this entire episode. We ended up better off in the end but something doesn't seem right.

Thanks for the quote from Alleva. I wish he put as much priority on insuring winning athletic programs as he does in financial buyout details. His penny pinching reputation is well earned.

But regarding Chavis, I do think A&M will eventually pay that buyout, as that type of thing has been done by college programs before.

I don't know if "3rd and Chavis" at LSU was as bad as at Tenn.

At LSU it was "4th Quarter and Chavis"

Is this like LSU fans trying to act like Chavis wasn't one of the best defensive coordinators in the country? That anyone can say that Kevin Steele will be better and have a valid argument to back it up?

He's gone. Quit showing how buthurt you are by trying to discredit him.
