Cool Papa Beau

Please indulge me for a bit here. I guess I am showing my age a bit here, but does anyone know what happened to a guy who called himself "Cool Papa Beau" about 15 years or so ago? As i recall, his name is Robert Doolittle and was at the University of South Alabama (USA) for a while when I was there working on my doctorate, but I have since lost touch. I always enjoyed his columns. Perhaps it was him who had the All-LSU vehicle I saw parked on the USA campus one time. Also, is he on this list?
