Further evidence of our lack of hitting coach.

Conner Hale turned to YouTube to get out of his funk. Stuck in a hitting skid and dropping down LSU’s batting order, Hale began watching at-bats from one of his favorite major leaguers: Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria. Sifting through those Longoria clips on YouTube, the Tigers infielder found an idea: Open your stance. “Guess it helps me see the ball a little bit better,” Hale said.

So a kid looking for tips from a mlb player means LSU doesn't have a hitting coach?

Honestly they should all just do this and ignore Javi's bullshite

How do you know what Javi tells them?

So you don't know.

Dang, was hoping for a pic of Eva Longoria, like the Laird/Ole Miss ball girl....then I found out it was Evan, and I had misread....

So Stevenson fixed his batting approach in the summer.
And Hale fixes his batting approach by watching YouTube.
Yea, we have a dandy of a hitting coach. Someone needs to look up his contract and see if they messed up the paper work where it says "X amount of RBI's" to "X amount of Ribs." More ribs please.

Well we are best in the SEC in fewest strikeouts and by a very large margin.

How do we rank in 1st pitch outs? GIDP's? Or lazy fly outs?
There is a lot more to outs than strikeouts.
I know we rank pretty low in the SEC in BA as well.

Heading into the weekend: We are 4th in Sac Flies, 3rd in Sac bunts, 2nd in RBI, 5th in Doubles, 2nd in Triples, 4th in Walks. 2nd in runs scored.

Are those overall or just in SEC games?

So he really didnt get a hitting lesson from Longoria... just watched him on youtube.
Thats like saying a DB watched Patrick Peterson play in the NFL, or a DT watches Dorsey.

Have you looked at our SEC only stats?
Posted on 4/27/14 at 6:29 pm to bubbz
Must not have cuz we're not THAT good in SEC play.

Oh they are worse, no doubt. And I'm not saying I like Javi. I want him replaced just like everyone else. Just saying we do some things well. It's not like we are totally incapable of scoring runs.

One thing good I will say is we don't strike out a lot and put the ball in play. That's about all I like about our offensive approach though.

Yeah even just counting SEC games we are still #1 in fewest strikeouts.
Over our last 4 SEC series (12 games), we are averaging 5.25 runs per game.

It's a little problematic that the guy had to go to YouTube to learn to widen his stance. That's kinda basic as far as hitting goes....
