He is a catcher. It's not like he's going straight into the MLB if he ever makes it at all. He will have time in the minors to adjust back to catching.

Ty Ross is still in single A. Everyone in the minors has to learn. But showing you can play a position can drastically improve your draft stock for a guy like Chinea. Blake Dean tried this. It didn't work out great for him ultimately, but Chinea is not going to get much of a signing bonus at all as a 17th round pick. He can only help himself by trying to improve upon it. But, at the end of the day, who knows

He could get offered no more than $10k or get offered $100k.
