Alabama 46-8
LSU 44-9
-- Not much difference there

Alabama 1 SEC Championship (2012)
LSU 1 SEC Championship (2011)
-- No difference there

Alabama 2 Nat-Champs
LSU 0 Nat-Champs
-- Winning conferences is about playing good football, winning Nat-champs is about luck. LSU was lucky to get into the game over USC in 2003 and was very lucky how things finally settled in 2007. They were very unlucky to have to face the same dynasty team they had beaten on their way to a undefeated regular season.

One surprise, Auburn 2 SEC Championships

Over the last 5 years, LSU is 2-3 in bowl games while Bama is 4-1 with three of those games being championships.

So I think it is fare to add that to the discussion as LSU's seasons, until this year, have ended on a very sour note

Dude whats the point...we have not been as good as the saban teams in the last 4 years...WE deserved to be in the nc in 2003 and if played usc most likely would have beat them..it was the okie's who did not deserve to be in the nc...and the football gods for sure shined down on us in 2007 which les almost blew..cause we were the best team in the nation

???????

Lsu was the unanimous pick to get in. It was Oklahoma vs USC that was disputed.

3 crystal balls… 0 crystal balls…

yeah, we are thisclose...

that being said, they are coming back to the middle now… the run they were on has never been seen before, and you can't stay on that trajectory forever…

bama has 2 in the past 4 years...

and yes, we are "this close", that isn't the question, it's can we eliminate the "close" part.
