Roger is on the side of the owners, and they usually want the best players for the lowest price possible. La'el would be a steal as an UFA for any franchise.

It replaces next year's 1st round pick (or whatever round) and would actually be for a cheaper price. If he's a 1st, the owner's also get a 5th year option for the player

NFL draft isn't like it used to be

Most of us on here only "know" La'el thru his involvement with LSU football. I'm sure we want the best for him, but justice takes precedence over football wishes...
. I don't view justice as being served if a young man loses millions and millions of dollars as a result, this position of course assumes he had zero to do with and has zero knowledge regarding the crime committed.

He went to one of my coaches to train the summer before he signed with LSU and I can say from seeing him regularly multiple times a week for 3 months that's he's possibly the most humble, nicest athlete that I've ever met aside from Brandon Bass and everybody that went to Redemptorist with him would probably agree. He's one of the few athletes I've met that comes across even better in real life than he does in the media. Just wanted to drop in and dispel the load of bullshite that's going to start with people attacking his character

All this shite got me believing he had something to do with his gf's killing. Why would an innocent man pass up millions and leave the draft? This shite is getting real. Hate it for him

The NFL won't let him, it sets bad precedence.

Because he would rather get cleared and have a chance at getting something close to his actual value, rather than have some team OWN him for sixth or seventh round money.

Is that supposed to change my mind or something dumbass? Why don't you explain to me exactly what he and all the other players on that poster did that would lead you to believe that it would make them capable of being involved in a murder

I'm saying they won't allow him to be removed from the draft. If he can get clear, he's a true value as a UDFA...

It is terrible timing for him, but the officers have to do their investigation and a murder investigation is the most important one. I hope and pray he is not involved, but I first and foremost I hope they find the killer.

I don't think you understand how this move would work.

The only reason that it makes any sense whatsoever to pull his name from the draft is that he expects a report indicating that he had nothing whatsoever to do with the crime and that his "value" to an NFL team will be higher in a supplemental draft after that report is issued than it is today with this cloud.

Your thread title sucks. He TRIED to remove his name from the draft. He can't just say I'm not in the draft pool anymore.

And in fact, the NFL rejected his request. So he will be in the draft pool tonight.

That's just a motivational thing. That wasn't for the scouts to actually see.
