Curious, but why can't he be drafted while he's 'clearing his name' down in BR?

Why not just get drafted?

Smart move by Collins

Now the NFL can be liable for his loss

and his loss will be real.

I love the kid but we don't really know anything. He's not a suspect at this time but there really is not alot that we know.

He's gone from a first rounder to undrafted by most

The guy is a first rounder. If he ends up being arrested for something, then the team that drafted him is out of their first round pick. Not many want to chance that.

teams could be scared away about his availability to actually play regarding legal issues

How? He's not prohibited from being drafted.

If he truly has absolutely ZERO involvement whatsoever in this person's murder then presumably he has done whatever he can to make that clear to his potential employers. Whether they believe him or not is up to the individual teams.

Why couldn't they get a compensatory pick next year?

There are a lot of things the BRPD doesn't know, they aren't the brightest group of human beings.

I doubt the CBA and league rules allow teams to obtain compensatory picks just because the guy they chose ends up being put in prison in connection with a murder

If he was involved I think he would have done it sometime other than the week of the draft, just saying.

I can see how right after might look worse though. Have they determined if it was his child? If It wasn't mine I'd be giving DNA asap

Because teams don't want o spend a pick on him until they know he isn't a murderer.

also with the rookie cap, he is basically losing a ton of money.
