Who has the better career at LSU if both walked the straight and narrow??

Collins would have won the Heisman
We would have another or 2 more NCs with Perriloux

Collins, and it probably isn't close.

Collins, no doubt. He was incredible during the short time he was here and would have likely won a heisman and been a high nfl draft pick

Agreed. Probably going to get raked for this but I think Collins was head and shoulders over Faulk talent wise.

Ask anyone who played with them and they'll agree with you

I want to agree with this entire statement but wasn't the D really weak in 08? I know it wasn't helped by the pick 6s.

Not to derail this into a JJ/JL thread (God knows we've had way too many of those), but the terrible D in 2008 is overlooked too often because of the fixation on the Pick 6s. Despite the Pick 6s, the O still put up a lot of points in 2008. The D just couldn't stop anyone. Perhaps Perriloux could have won a second in 2009, but I don't see it for 2008.
As far as ability to win championships, Collins would have faced the same defensive problems thanks to Lou "Drop LB" Tepper. The team losing 2-3 games because of that poor defense would have also hurt his Heisman standings. I do think he would have been a Top 10, possibly Top 5, Draft pick though. Guy had loads of talent.

It wasn't up to par, but you don't need a great D to always win championships. LSU was a good team that year outside of horrible QB play. Defense would have looked much better with better offensive production, clock control, less devastating turnovers, etc.

Collins would have had the better career.
Perriloux's departure had a much larger impact than Collins. We didn't miss a beat when Collins went down.
Perriloux set us back years.
