When it comes down to it, Colin doesn't watch college football enough to give an opinion that I would trust. He even admits that its all eyeball test for him and front running. So he follows the press clippings of the big programs with hot topics on any given weekday he only knows the names Leonard Fournette and Les Miles. He is clueless about what we have all seen play out on the field with LSU so he can't tell me shite about my own team that I would believe. He reads headlines and takes whatever angle he can find to get the masses stirred up. I have zero respect for his college football knowledge.

Any team can beat anybody any given day. Just have to see who comes to play and gets the breaks...that day. Hopefully players and coaches are executing every week.

It's definitely a possibility. We've played probably the 2 worst teams in the SEC and 2 OOC cupcakes. The only team we've beat that even remotely has a pulse is MSU, and they were a few yards away from victory against us. We've certainly looked vulnerable. I'm not saying we're definitely overrated. I'm just saying that we don't really know at this point. We could be a playoff team, or we could be the same caliber as last year. We'll have a better idea this Saturday.

I think he's dead on. I'm selling LSU at #6. Unless there are major upsets this weekend, this will be the highest we are ranked this season.
We all know we can't pass. Alabama will embarrass us. Hell, A&M will even beat us. I don't think we can stop them.
Like Spurrier kind of used to say, you can't spell Citrus Bowl without "LSU".

What CC thinks is of Little Importance...what matters is what the LSU players
think and Do....

Colin acts more like a little girl than a sports person (apologies to little girls) I bet you he has never played a true contact sport, unless w his boyfriend.

I think you will be owing an apology before long.

We don't have much depth on defense and honestly, before the season, I thought our starters on defense would be more big time playmakers than what they have been. But still its a good top 20 defense.
our Offense, at this point in the season, is still a big work in progress. It has great potential and the coaching staff seems to be going in the right direction with it, sometimes frustratingly slowly, but it seems it will be ready for the Bama game. I'm really excited about our offense and the vision the coaches seem to have for it.
We all know the issues with the special teams and they are easily correctable, However it's the 5th game and they still aren't corrected. So there's that.
The penalty situation got better, but it was just one game. Did we correct those problems or was the S Carolina game just an aberration? and to what extent are the SEC refs going to f us?
Are we over rated or under rated? I wouldn't even touch that question but I don't think it really matters how we are rated. We need to win the conference and the toughest part is still in front of us.

I can respect his opinion. I have us rated so high on potential. Right now...we don't look top 5.
This is stupid. If LSU doesn't look top 5, then who does?
I could see LSU beating both TCU and Baylor in a shootout. I think we slow the game down against their crappy defenses, and dictate the scoring. We could beat either 50 to 40.
Clemson is still TBD on offense, but their defense is overrated.
Utah has a pass defense, but we'll run circles around them. They rely more on rushing than passing and we can slow the rushing game down enough.
Ohio State, I think we keep Elliott in check (around 100 yards and less than 5 ypc). Jones will gift us a couple of times through fumbles and ints. Game would be close.
Michigan State is super overrated. We'd beat them by 10, but probably give up a lot of passing yardage.
Really I expect our pass defense to improve once Mills gets back. That will make us much better, and he'll be able to provide us leadership, and keep everybody where they are supposed to be. I don't think we realized just how much he would mean to this defense.
ETA: Our key to kickoffs is simple, kick the bitch for a touchback, and you won't have to worry about him retunring it damn't! How in the hell do you keep trying to pin them inside the 10, when you haven't done it yet in 5 straight games? Don't even give them a damn chance. I'd rather them start at the 25 than the 35 or 40.

Same thing was said last year. Their defensive line is the same. We moved the ball in multiple ways. It will be a slugfest but it's our year.

Name a team this year that looks completely unstoppable this year. There aren't any IMO.
Baylor maybe? I mean they're probably soft but both TCU and Baylor have done better than I thought they would OOC and in Bowls so they might be for real.

Our players fricking hurt after the Bama game last year. We're coming to Tuscaloosa for the mission.
Posted on 10/13/15 at 7:27 pm to TigerFan244
So far this season every team is over rated. I see no team that has deprecated itself.
Posted on 10/13/15 at 7:27 pm to PeaRidgeWatash
Felt better about the passing game after the USC win. Defense (still gelling) and especially special teams is a concern.

I agree. LSU always has one of the most talented teams in the nation each year. Unfortunately we have the most average overrated coaching staff, besides Raymond, Orgeron, and Wilson. And it starts at the top. It's sad to see Miles piss away so much talent because he's stuck in the 70's and hires his old buddies as coordinators. This is as true as it gets

Bingo! He's the handyman of sports guys, jack of all trades, expert of none.
