Coaching changes need to be made, but what realistic changes can be made?

Ok the out for "Miles head" crowd as unfortunate as it may be to all of you the fact is Miles is not going anywhere unless he retires, resigns or gets hired away it is truly that simple. Why you ask? Money plain and simple. Here is Miles buyout clause;

"That buyout would be $15 million if Miles is terminated prior to Dec. 31, 2015. It would then drop to $12.9 million for the contract's fourth and fifth years, to $8.6 million for the sixth year and $4.3 million for the seventh."

There is no way LSU will pay him "$15mil, $12.9mil or $8.6mil" unless the team turns into Muschamps last year and they have to fire him. So as long as Miles is winning 8/9 games or more we have him through 2018 for sure. And with our talent year in/year out he should be able to at least win 8 games a year when for the most part 4 of them are paid wins each year.

Retire - probably not until 2018 getting paid too much money not to retire
Resign - again getting paid too much money not to resign
Hired away - the most likely scenario but who is going to pay him $4.3mil?

So whether anyone likes it or not barring a complete and total meltdown like Muschamp and Florida or Chizck and Auburn, Miles is with us through 2018 so just get used to it.

What other changes can be made is what everyone should be looking at.

Cam Cameron - absolutely great guy, family man and human being but he has to go. Problem is will Miles fire one of his closet friends in his life? Unless it is complete and utter disaster, probably not. And as bad as these last 2 games have been as a whole you can't say our offense is a complete and utter disaster as pissed off as you want to be at Cameron we are still 7-2 and would be 8-2 if the McNeese St game was not cancelled. More likely scenario is that Cameron leaves because Miles is catching so much heat about him that he spares his good friend. That is what we have to hope for, but even if Cameron leaves will Miles ever let his OC call his own game and design the offense the way he wants to, probably not so we are stuck in Ground Hogs day with an OC.

Kevin Steele - unfortunately too early to tell because he doesn't have the personnel that he wants to see how his schemes work but in my opinion as good a recruiter as he is, he has not impressed me so far as a DC. But he isn't going anywhere, no one is going to hire him away and he is not going to get fired after just one year as DC unless there is a catastrophic disaster over the next 2 games and bowl game that our defense gives up 500+ yds per game but I still don't see him getting fired this year.

BDP - well the only shinning star that will come out of these 2 losses is Peveto no way saves his job. Miles is going to have to fire someone and he is the low hanging fruit. No need to justify his firing everyone wants his head on a plate so even though he is Miles buddy someone is going to have to be the sacrificial lamb and that lambs name is Bradley Dale Peveto!!!!!! Hooray!!!!!!

BeBe - No way he is fired and no way he should be fired.

Grimes - fact is after these last 2 games he has some explaining to do but the first 7 games justifies why he won't be fired.

Raymond - Well we certainly aren't DBU right now we look more like PU, but we all know what he can do!

Ball - I am not impressed with what he has to work with I think he has underachieved but then again Harris is not the best passer no matter what anyone wants to think.

Wilson - he is untouchable only way he is gone is if he is hired away.

So at the end of the year I see only one coach getting the Golden Boot up his arse and that is BDP. Watch and see unless someone gets hired away the only coach that will not be on staff next year is BDP and that is a travesty with all the talent we have at LSU not to have more heads roll with the way we underachieve at the end of each year!!!!

my best guess is he is forced to hire an innovative OC and then vow to stay the hell out of the way. Honestly, that may be all that's needed.
I have faith in Steele/Orgeron to replenish the front 7 with depth.
Firing BDP is inevitable

I believe if Alleva had the stones to make that happen and actually enforce it then it would go along way to getting the ship right but I just can't see that happening. That said, he might not have to. Miles in his press conference last night almost seemed to see the light. Only time will tell though. He has proven to be more hard headed than most and I doubt he goes anywhere this year.

About LSU loss to Arkansas.
I think people who watched the team saw this coming. My dad a former coach saw this coming. I tried to tell him LSU was holding back on game plan and preparation. Just adding more as the games continued. Apparantly not the case. At LSU we want a shot at the national title every year. We know they are possible. Alabama humiliated the team. There were only 3 third downs made in that game. Hey Les why show up????? Now Arkansas runs all over us. The defense calls are horrible. And your not using a running QB the right way. He's running when he should pass. He's passing when he should run. After the Arkansas game LSU is now 42nd in the country for 3rd down conversion pct. You made 3 third downs in the bama game. In the Arkansas game again!!! you only made 3 third downs. Thats unacceptable. Very unacceptable. Your making it so much easier on other teams. Omg in rushing yards Arkansas had 299yds. And LSU had 59yds. 59yds????? and you did 30 rushing plays. What in the world????? And Les saying it was your fault doesn't help. Not at all. It be like General Custard before everyone is killed by Indians. Saying troops this is all my fault??? "Les" get your head out your arse. Get back to what worked. Use #7 the right way. And if you don't beat Sabin next year please leave. We don't wanna be like UGA . And have a team(Florida) dominate us. Quit being stupid Les!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting sick of this phrase. I don't care if a guy has a family or not. Not my business or concern.

That will not happen because LSU has no leverage to make that happen unless they are will to pick up the buyout. So who really thinks that LSU will pay Miles "$15 million if Miles is terminated prior to Dec. 31, 2015. It would then drop to $12.9 million for the contract's fourth and fifth years, to $8.6 million for the sixth year."

Only year we have a shot is the $8.6mil year which is 2018, which I don't think personally there is anyway we pay $8.6mil unless the record looks like Muschamp's at UF last year or Chizick at Auburn. Miles is our coach until 2018 as long as he wants to be our coach and getting paid that kind of cash you stay. And since LSU won't pony up that kind of cash for the buyout, what leverage does Alleva have to force Miles to hire an innovative OC and stay the hell out of the way.

Nope that buyout clause that Miles agent put into the contract basically fu-barred us really good!!!!
