Is it me are do Lsu only hire coaches that are good recruiters but bad X's and O's. Paul mainieri CWS never adjusted to base hits everyone was swinging for Hr and Doubles. Les Miles self explanatory. Johnny Jones pass to JOB and everybody watches and wait. Nikki I would say is the only one that runs actual plays. The only thing is that they all can recruit.

Correct but mostly because of talent and not X's and O's and if I'm not mistaken both won with other coach recruits and not there own.

Paul mainieri

he's a hall of fame coach that has brought notre dame to the CWS and has won a national championship.

you're mistaken. wouldn't that also make them better at X's and O's than recruiting?

So you disagree with the lack of not telling the team to hit infield singles and not go for the fences.

How do you know what he tells the team. Also, easier said than done.

Get a fricking grip. He won 19 games with a tuba player getting significant playing time last season and we are stuck with two 5'9" guards this season. Let's not write him off yet

well the 2 guys who slumped hard weren't power hitters to begin with...

Our single hitters are the ones that struggled. Bregs and Ralph

He's actually quite a good X's and O's coach despite what many on this board would like to think.

Check out the winning percentages of these "dumb" coaches and feel free to compare to any and all coaches at other major programs.

Of course LSU only wins with superior talent , right?
Hahahahha...you familiar with the term "ironic"?

Just stating the obvious.

Never said he isn't a good coach just said X's and O's may not be his strength but I noticed besides Paul and Johnny no one disagreeing stepping up for miles.
