You guys don't know anything about competing
Apparently you don't. You think in order to "compete" players need to be yelled at continuously like dogs.

So you guys are right, let's keep what we are doing, it's working. Especially w basketball.
I promise you it has nothing to do with being overly emotional on the bench.

No it's not. LSU has been penalized A LOT in November. Especially vs Ole Miss, IIRC. When it's plainly obvious the team lacks discipline, folks wanna see someone tell them to get it together. Bama, Ohio St, etc all have moments where they need to be reminded as well. It's not like LSU is any different. But when things go wrong, LSU doesn't seem to bounce back very well.
fwiw

Lets hire Pelini and muschamp den
Both won national titles at LSU.
All we are saying is we'd like to see our coaches show the will to compete. Getting run out of the gym by a team picked to finish 8th out of 9 teams in bad conference, and just standing there and watching isn't what head coaches are supposed to do. We're down 22 points at halftime to a joke of a team and we haven't even called a single timeout.
But guys in this thread are saying it's just not his personality to yell and rant. Well you know what else isn't in his personality, WINNING.

No... but when you go 5-23 from 3 pt range, and keep shooting them without working for a quality shot. then a small pep talk is in order.

More of just another reason to complain. If the coaches yelled at them on the field, then the fans would bitch that they are throwing the players under the bus and need to control their emotions better. The coaches need to learn to control themselves because those actions are best kept behind closed doors...

Why do you think the players are always backing Miles? Because he's so easy on them, hence our perpetually sloppy, penalty-ridden play every week. I always chuckle when the stories come out about both current and former players all having Miles' back. Why would they want someone new to come in and actually chew arse?
They have assistants that yell. Im sure chavis did. Also people have reported Les works them too hard in practice.
It is just odd that people will continue to just make up shite because they hate this guy.

You can do this without yelling and throwing a fit FWIW

True. But I think they're confusing yelling at players with showing passion and emotion.
It's the Saban effect.

I don't hate Les at all. And idk shite about practice. I'm talking about when you have 2 holdings and a false start in 1 drive and are backed up on your own 2 yard line for a 2nd and 20. A little emotion never hurt anyone..

it's non stop. they constantly make shite up to bash the guy.
there was one earlier that said the majority of Metts 3000+ yards came on desperate 3rd and long passes. i mean...seriously?

Don't we already have Coach O for that?

This is the rants problem. He isn't there to please your ever want. Just because you want him to holler and look like a 2 year old having a tantrum doesn't mean it is best for his player.

I'm saying that - save for 2011 - LSU under Miles has always been a sloppy, penalty-ridden football team. That discipline starts at the top. Bottom line.
Miles basically coaches like the "cool uncle" - the players love him, sure, but there's no discipline whatsoever on the field.

Oh you mean after all the leaks came out? People talking about Les getting fired, the team then comes out and it def was the worst I have seen in a while as far as penalties are concerned. The team wasnt focused. I know Les says that wasnt a distraction, but he always says shite like that.

I've had coaches that yelled, and have coaches that didn't. Most of the high energy, yelling and cussing coaches were on the defensive side of the ball, and offensive line. (football). I've actually witnessed an o-line and d-line coach have to be physically restrained after going nose to nose and nearly coming to blows, during practice.
Personally, I like the coaches who can remain calm and actually coach me up then then blow up in your face type. Then again, I'm of the personality that as soon as you start to yell at me, I immediately begin to tune you out.
