I don't think this kind of stuff really matters much on either side. Coaches change all of the time and end up going up against their former teams. I would be surprised if statistically if there was ever any correlation between wins and losses.

NFL teams sign free agents from opposing teams all the time. And those are just players... Steele is a frickin' coach and Alabama's one-time DC under Saban.

All Kevin needs to know is how to get to Coker. Negative plays will be the difference in this game.
Harris is + mobile, Coker is - mobile... game over.

Can't wait for this whipping on national TV !

Rick Neuheisel (sic), who picked WKU over LSU, said the best Steele could offer would be a player breakdown, knowing who can cover man best etc, saying that both teams are almost identical in how they want to attack a defense, but knowing what players can do what is the big advantage. Also like someone said here, Coach O knows the Kiffin offense well.

For those that don't know, coaches on the same staff are tasked with game planning against each other to negate tendencies...So Saban and Kiffin will self critique and see what Steele sees and plan accordingly...no different than the Saban and Kiffin understanding how Steele approaches offenses..its a wash

Yeah, sure Steele telling LSU how Saban has game-planned for them the past few years is relevant. I'm sure Saban will have the same gameplan he's had the last four or five times out, and I'm sure Saban won't make any adjustments.

It doesn't matter one bit.

Tackling and Pressure matter. Can Lsu get pressure on Coker and Tackle Henry without givibg up major yardage.

With this logic, doesn't that mean that Chavis will shut us down.

Uhh, no it isn't.

They know HIS tendencies as well as he knows theirs. Also, did it occur to you that they know he knows their tendencies? Maybe they'll break their tendencies.

I played flag football years ago, and there was a team we had played against the year before. One of their guys had joined us in the offseason. The first game of the next year we played his old team. He was playing the deep right zone. Their QB throws a bomb down the right sideline to a guy who was 20 yards in the clear. After the game he explained what happened.

He had played for that QB for about five years. Apparently he started every game with the same play, a deep route on the outside and a 15 yard out from the slot. He always threw to the slot. So our guy decides to jump it. The thing was, their QB wasn't as dumb as y'all think Saban is.

Both teams know each other extremely well. I doubt Steele adds much in this area.

agreed, not really an advantage.

DC's don't spend their time going against THEIR OWN OFFENSE. They game plan for opponents, so Steele would've very little experience with Kiffin's offense.
