Francis you also forget the YAW coached 8 all Americans on the defensive line for Miami under Jimmy Johnson (warren sapp included) the man has learned from the BEST and will give his BEST. Won't run off like Saban either

So 3 seasons at ole miss most of which without his players, in the toughest conference in college football. Vs. the big 12 and the mediocre teams in that conference? Only two good teams in the big 12. Give me a break. It's not even close.

I clearly stated that I didn't want him to be the head coach next year. I was just pointing out that most coaches learn from their mistakes and make corrections to the weaknesses they have shown in the past. I'm just saying I think he'll do well with the interim opportunity but that doesn't warrant being the hire made at the end of the season.

Yup he should not even sniff a chance at being HC but I hope he stays and he should get a raise of he does well the rest of the season.

Lighten up Francis. Give him this season before making that call. Saban and Miles both had on the job training at LSU. Both made their fair share of mistakes. Lets wait and see how coach O does the remainder of this season. Miles record at Okie state wasn't great at all 28-21. Yet he had success here. You also have to take into consideration that O coached at Ole Miss also

That coach sucks

Well, he's about equal or better than other Brown's coaches.

Orgeron is FAR AND AWAY the worst Ole Miss coach. And his tenure was sandwiched between relatively successful tenures.

this is the key and he has talked about how he wasn't ready for the ole miss job.

Help me out, how long ago did Orgeron coach at Ole Miss?

10 years? Oh.... okay.

Remember 10 years ago when Saban was coaching the Dolphins, and Les Miles/Houston Nutt were considered elite coaches?

Yeah... things change.

He inherited a team with no players. He spent the next 3 years which you can only count the last 2 replenishing the talent. Nutt wins with that talent fur couple years until it again ran out and it was back to pre- Coach O. None of that means he should be the next head coach but it's the context. O freely admits he wasnt ready for the job and what he did wrong with the team while he was there.

I think he has evolved from Wild Boys - no question. He said as much at the PC yesterday, "I wanted to coach QBs, RBs, everything, even though I didn't know anything about it."

That takes a man to say that in front of everyone, I can tell you that.

I agree, only way he is coach next year is if the admin wants to go on the cheap because of Miles buyout. That would bring us back to the pre Saban days.
