Been hearing mixed opinions about this Orgeron Era that the Tigers will enter this upcoming season. Some people are excited and see great things for the future of this team and some like to think that this program just took a huge step backward. In my opinion, you can't go any further back than Wes Niles, and after seeing what Coach O did to that Tiger team with just a few weeks as the head honcho, I feel that with his recent hires and hopefully a great and effective offseason, I see the Tigers pulling off a championship season within the next 2-3 seasons. Thoughts? Smartass remarks?

Beat Bama then maybe I'll start to pay more attention.

This! First and only hurdle that will currently win over the fan base. Win 10 games and beat Bama.....off the hot seat for a while.

To see how well they played Alabama this year, how well the defense shut them down for a majority of the game, I have high hopes for the up coming season. If LSU would've had any kind of offense against them, I think they could have well gotten the win. Honestly, I think LSU will get the W this season. I think they're more than capable to pull off an undefeated season if they play their game each down. The talent is there and now the coaching is there.

I enjoyed the passion the guys played with the first couple games, that Florida loss is haunting imo. They came out and gave Florida the usual les miles treatment, everything to play for (if you think the sugar bowl is worth a damn) with an amazing squad and we played down to our competition. I know y'all r gonna sit here and say BUT BUT WE DOMINATED.... we lost. Mental mistakes coupled with terrible red zone play calling gave us the big fat L.(sound familiar?) Right then I knew O wasn't the guy but that didn't seem to matter to our administration. So for that I'll support O and put my P&G glasses on, I'm just praying the inevitable doesn't occur.

If that's your criteria the the only coach you'll listen to is Dabo.

He lost the same amount of games. And yes yes we can go further back than the Les era. shite the Saban era was worse than Les. And while the team played well in most the games, they were running the same offense, had the talent the previous coach brought it.

But, if they can continue to recruit at a high level and Canada actually gets a QB playing well without seeing a drop in our ability to pound the ball, then yes LSU should at least win the west in the next 2-3 years.

If not, he can be shown the door as well.

Well this is fricking retarded. It can be and has been way worse than Les' later years.

I agree with this. We have the horses and some great assistants right now to be elite. We'll be good to great for the next few years and then we'll see exactly what O is really made of. Can he maintain an elite staff? Can he maintain over the course of many years recruiting at an elite level?

LSU should be a good to great team next year. However saying LSU football cannot get any worse than under Les Miles is asinine and a sign you are either very young or not very bright. True, after 17 consecutive winning seasons 1998 and 1999 seems like ancient history to me as well. Talk to ND, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, Penn ST, USC, Nebraska, and Miami fans and they will tell you if honest, they thought their respective programs would never fall except for the random year to 4 or 5 losses putting the coach on the hot seat or resulting in his termination.

I wasn't upset that Les lost his job in 2016 and wouldn't have been upset in 2015 either, but to say LSU hit their bottom is crazy.

The LSU basketball team has hit their bottom: no argument or close enough that it doesn't matter.
