He has done a great job. When was the last time LSU pistol whipped ark and ole miss in same season.also held Bama scoreless try 3 quarters. He needs to recruit sec caliber qb's. Next year he will open up the offense tigers could be top 5. Team next year. He could finish in top ten this year

I don't see him sticking around if he's not offered the job

How likely would he stay if he gets passed over? Took him about 30 seconds at usc to haul arse.

It all depends on his OC and style of play during his interviews/meetings with Alleva over the next few weeks.
I think the calls are already made to test the temperature of interest to Herman. If no Herman, O is probably the front runner if he can prove to have a plan in place to have an offense who can go spread when needed and ground n pound when needed.

No telling really. Likely would depend on who the next HC is and how much we'd pay him.
But what better option will he have that he'll leave his home state and a place where we could be a title contender in the relatively short term?

It would be hard to pass over the local hero after a 1 loss season where the only loss is by 10 points to the top team in the country.

Honestly, he's produced a pretty good resume for another HC job. If the right job comes calling I could see him going. Could also see him go with Lane to his next gig; if big enough.

O inherited a ridiculous team with Aranda as DC and he's beaten some meh competition.
If any other school views this as a resume for their next HC good luck.
That said I have no issue keeping him if he wins out and hires a DYNAMITE OC and keeps Aranda.
But I'd prefer Jimbo or Herman for the long term health of the program.
ETA - I gotcha on O following Lane but still. Leave LSU for a mediocre gig that Lane would get?

Your past post history suggest that you enjoy agitating the LSU fanbase. You questioned the Aranda hiring. I mean, you flat out attacked Aranda's past relevance. But you do seem so sure O is the guy. Interesting...

Lane is rumored to be in for a HC job. I wouldn't be shocked if they hooked up again if O gets passed over.

It's actually not hard at all when you have potentially two better candidates available for the job

Likely pay decrease and a step down in quality of program

If he gets offered P5 DC money to be DL coach and RC, it will be tough for him to leave a place he loves. I don't see him taking less money to be a HC at a ULL or McNeese type school.

If O knows what's good for him he will ride out this season in a blaze of glory, and then stay at LSU as the highest paid position coach in the country. That's the best possible situation for LSU. If O really loves LSU as much as this board seems to think he does, then he will stay on staff if he isn't given the job. Sadly, I think his success this season going to his head along with the big paychecks other schools will be offering means he is gonna be gone.

I like O, as a recruiter and position coach.
But he seems to be trying to take advantage of his current interim position, putting his personal interests above LSU's. he's trying to force a referendum on the program to take him as HC, or lose him.
Maybe he doesn't see it that way, but a more objective person should.
I wish he would take a higher road, offering to serve in any capacity that best serves LSU. A true interim LEADER would do that, and help keep the whole staff and a new class of recruits intact, without eliminating himself from consideration.
That BeBe is unable or unwilling to do so says a lot about his preparation for the big stage.
I hope we can keep him but this competition he has placed himself in doesn't help him or LSU.

There is a BOARD for discussing coaching changes. INTERIM LSU HC EO has done a good job beating teams with less talent and weak defenses - particularly run defenses which our whole offense is predicated on.
