Step 1. Keep arranda. Check
Step 2. Hire best offensive CO available Check

Step 3. Finish with top 5 recruiting class? Lot of time left but I think he will get this as well.

Coach O supposedly a master motivator........looks hard to mess up honestly. He has delivered so far.

I've got my fingers crossed on O...but for the record, knowing that Aranda would likely stay was part of the reasoning in offering O, so I'm not going to give him full credit for that. And as much as I like the Canada hire, O seemed pretty unprepared for the way this unfolded and went into panic mode once Narcisse de-committed.

It's my opinion based on watching and listening to his actions/words. Counter my points instead of acting like an old-fart dimwit.

I think Texas was a major player in taking arranda with herman there. Giving him a raise and keeping him in baton rouge was extremely important and O and alleva would have definitly gotten the blame if Arranda left. So they have to get the credit too

Canada is here now and he is one of the two guys I at least felt were the best available. To be honest i am glad we got him instead of kiffin.

Still time left with recruiting. Brennan seems to be easing back down. Still some big names we could lock up. I dont care if he kosmo kramers his way into a top recruiting class as long as it happens.

Some people look hard to find negatives. Congrats you're one of them.

Some work hard to be objective, I debated the nega-Miles crowd on here for years when they were obsessively negative. I'm simply calling the OP's point as a see it.

Listen carefully to Canada's presser. I think it refutes the "panic" opinion.

As far as Narcisse, it appears that Auburn was his choice from early on. From what I heard, he idolized Cam and the uncertainty at LSU was a perfect out for him.

So who else would you give partial credit to?

I'm assuming that you are making this claim because O stated that we wouldn't see an OC announced until after the bowl game. I took that to mean that O had come to an agreement with Kiffin (also the reason why O would offer Tua) and that's how Lane wanted it.
Then Kiffin decided to take the FAU job, so O moved on down his ranking list of potential candidates, which is perfectly normal. Sounds like O interviewed Lincoln Riley (per Tigerbaitlawyer) as candidate #2 but he is content at Oklahoma, then he spoke with Canada where an agreement was reached. It's called a contingency plan and it personified preparation.
A recruit will never dictate what actions a coach will take regarding his staff... that is nonsense.

So many that have never been in the arena who will criticize without the facts. They think a lit if themselves, but that only works in a sports bar where they can talk to like minded uninformed people

Someone needs to find out the difference between objective and subjective before they try to use them in a sentence.

You claim to work hard to be objective? Then tell me the objective evidence to support this quote by you:

quote:

O seemed pretty unprepared for the way this unfolded and went into panic mode once Narcisse de-committed.

In particular what did O do or say that supports this?

Should it have been loosely worded, designed to cause panic, make everyone believe the worst and maximize invalid criticism?
