"I haven't heard anything from LSU" on the open Defensive Coordinator position.

"I'd have no problem being a d-line or other position coach," at LSU.

Says he's been contacted by Dan Mullen. "We had a great conversation."

"Most of these guys have all their official visits taken already and the potential of getting them is very slim, guys are zeroing in on their top 2 or 3 schools so hopefully you have a great foundation, because january 15 you hit the ground running" <- a whole lot of paraphrasing

So, would you take Brick being DC if it meant we got O, or do you prefer getting a more accomplished DC but it means Brick stays at Dline coach?

ETA: will edit as more quotes come

I want O at LSU. I rather him recruit with us then against us

Brick should be coaching the LBers, so I think that plus the DC with O coaching the DL and Recruiting would be a big positive for LSU. Brick is not the best hire but with O and the position changes it could work and be very fruitful.

Culotta and Ponamsky seem to be high on promoting Brick and bringing in BeBe as DL. Not sure if that's just because they want BeBe on the staff or if they actually think Brick would perform well.

Given the names that are out there and assuming there are no dark horses....I think we're to the point that pulling talent > scheme.

If I had to rank the scenarios I would go;

1. Shoop
2. CP (although appears unlikely)
3. Brick / O

4. Steele or Stoops pain train

I just have a feeling Shoop and Clancy are out of the question.

They have been pimping his name since the minute it was reported Chavis might leave. I'd have to think him being on their show once a week had something to do with that.

As far as the rest of the OP, I don't want Haley as DC. Our d line has been underwhelming the last two seasons and I was honestly hoping that he would leave with Chavis.

yes he should be on staff just to keep him away from another SEC team.

If he goes to Mississippi State to coach under Mullen and Diaz I don't know if Les' best sales job can save face on that.

I think Brick is only sticking around to go after the DC job. If he doesn't get it, I don't think he is going to stay.
Miles is going to name a DC and Brick will leave, then Miles can bring in Coach O.

It could happen. lol

Curious if people would rather Brick stay a position coach (move to LB coach) and O as DC or Brick promoted and O as DL.
