Why would you even mention that? I am sure Les has enough contacts in the NFL to get a message through somehow. Did he just call the main office line?

Or he got the message through but Roger didn't want to discuss it on the phone

Why? Because it's obvious that frickstick of a commissioner told every NFL team "I dare you to draft him."
That mother fricker is as corrupt as it gets and it pisses me off. I guess he just thinks we the public are a bunch of idiots.
at ZERO teams even attempting to take him as a flyer in the 7th round.

Goodell obviously told no one to draft him as it would have been too easy for a team to draft him late and use the excuse of too little information to convict someone who wasn't even declared a suspect before the draft.

While I understand the love for LSU here and I can appreciate and understand what Miles did ( I have the love for LSU too, I am a graduate of the school), Roger Goodell has ONE job and ONE job only.

That job is to answer to 32 billionaires and make them money. Period.

If that job entails telling owners to stay away from a certain player for whatever reason, it's going to happen.

It's business.

So signing him a week later is cool? All the police wanted was to talk to him, NFL freaks, he talks to police, signs with Dallas.......all the while never being named a suspect.

Meanwhile the #1 pick in draft has a pending Civil Suit for rape

An emotional LSU coach Les Miles says former lineman La’el Collins should be placed in the supplemental draft and that Miles has been rebuffed in attempts to contact NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
(Bill Feig)

(Bill Feig)

Miles made the comments in a brief meeting Thursday before Collins signed with the Dallas Cowboys.

The coach broke his silence on the on-going saga with his former All-Southeastern Conference left tackle. He lobbied for the NFL to allow Collins to enter the supplemental draft, meant for players who did not enter the regular draft.

Doesn't he have strong ties to the Cowboys? Maybe had something to do with his ending up there for as good a deal he could have hoped to get.

I think they should have made an exception in La'el's case to let him go in the supplemental draft. Something like this has never happened before in the history of the NFL during draft time.

What I think and what many others believe as well, is that all the GMs were told to not draft La'el at all. It might possibly have been a PR nightmare with all the recent decisions Goodell has made on the criminal matters of NFL players. At least that's what they believed. I think they wanted to use Collins as an example, which is some bullshite.

Think about it, no team wanted to draft this guy at all? The rewards FAR outweighed the risks, so why was he not taken in 256 picks?

I agree, and I'll add that I honestly wouldn't piss on Goodell if he were on fire.

Can anyone in this world read a quote and post it accurately?

Here is the quote:

“I called him and I was told, ‘It’s damn near impossible for me to get through,'” Miles said.

Goodell's failure to speak with Miles about Collins can be evidence that the NFL was not interested in anything to mitigate the damage to Collins' draft prospects, even though Goodell knew they were damaged without any evidence of wrongdoing by Collins. The willful indifference to, or downright disregard for, Collins sure is at odds with the image Goodell tries to portray at the draft where its all hugs and handshakes for the draftees, even those with real character issues that Collins has never displayed.
