CLM just spoke at the Don Shows Memorial! Absolutely incredible!! So classy and inspiring!! So glad he is at LSU!!!

No Saban. Coach Miles really earned a lot of respect by delaying the start of spring football to pay homage to Coach Shows. Not many college coaches would do that.

I attend the coaches luncheon every year.. Les can own a room. He's just f ing with the media.. Dude is sharp as a tack.

He was about the 4th or 5th speaker and was the first to crack emotionally towards the very end of his speech.

Hard to remember everything but he told about how Don could gauge talent and knew where to play his players. "Whitworth, born to play LT." Shows was right. Mingo, Shows played him at LB, LSU at DE. Mingo plays LB in NFL. Don was right. Will Blackwell played DE at WM. Shows told Miles "he's a LG". Shows was right again.
Miles mentioned the atmosphere at Rebel Stadium and how Shows had created that atmosphere. Said it was everything "right about HS and college football."
And the most touching was when Miles said, with his voice cracking, "...and he was a Friend! (Long pause regaining composure) and we'll miss you Don Shows! God Bless!"

It was fitting and very moving. Coach Miles is such a class act. We are incredibly lucky. Coach Ensminger and Coach Peveto were there as well.
