Anybody else listen to this interview? Gets me pumped listening to some baseball talk. Only 8 days away.

He said that Deichmann has more raw power than anyone who has ever played for LSU. I find that hard to believe but I'm excited to find out. He also said Cole Freeman is faster than Stevenson was.

He is the Coach O of baseball. Every time i hear him talk i want to go to the batting cage and take a few swings. Every time i hear Coach O talk i want to run through a brick wall.

raw power is pretty useless if he can't hit the ball

If we hit 250 in conference play he is a miracle worker.

True, but I think he turned it on towards the end of the summer.

Fred "the crime dog" Mcgriff used to say they don't pay me for the hundreds of times i swing and miss they pay me for the 25 swings that go over the fence.

If that's true without the little added boost many of them in the 90's and early 2000's had, that's quite the compliment.

Ridiculous Fred hasn't been voted into the HOF yet.

Stevenson and Laird speed translated well in OF, for whatever reason they were not very good basestealers. Bregman was better instinctive basestealer.

Deichmann may have power but his biggest issue is not striking out and making contact. Raw power is definitely there but figuring out college/SEC pitching is a lot tougher for him to handle.

In his first year at LSU he coached a team that:

led the nation in base hits (762)
No. 3 in stolen bases (130)
No. 3 in doubles (146)
No. 4 in batting average (.314)
No. 7 in runs scored (451)

LSU led the Southeastern Conference in:
batting average
base hits
stolen bases
doubles
total bases (1,107)
and fewest strikeouts (341)

I hate to ask the question because I love this staff, outside of Mainieri, but who do we lose first Dunn or Cannizaro? I think both would be great choices for the next head coach.

7 homeruns shy of the automatic berth 500 homerun mark. He was my second favorite player behind Griffey and i never liked the Braves, but went to a game and got his autograph when I was real young and he then hit a walk off home run in the game. That is one of my first sports memory and still one of my favorite.

Cannizaro. I think Dunn really likes being a pitching coach and don't know if he desires anything beyond that.

For sure. I think Cannizaro is the same sort of hire that Aranda is. You get one of the best young Assistants to hopefully win a championship soon because within a few years, he is moving on up. Deservedly so.

That's a bold statement, what knowledge does this come from?
