That's me. I'm a "Leslie-lover". Just so we can establish a winner and a loser, what 2015 result qualifies as "the walls closing in"?

All these idiots come out of the woodwork every few years. Then they quietly disappear or start other alters after LSU wins the West or SEC again. These are the same people that never post after a win but double their post count after a loss. They'd rather see Miles fail than LSU win...that's a fact. I'm starting to wonder how many of them are actually trolls from other schools.

They love the guy

Also even funnier to me is Brett B. at Arkansas and the article nails it on the head saying he fits the personality of the state. The fans in Arkansas love this guy, he goes around the state making appearances at events speaking and entertaining all the high profile fans and flat out fires them up when he speaks.

He could finish in the bottom of the pack for 5 more years and not get fired

Les' job is safe unless we have a shitty record due to playing yet another season without a QB.

Miles season wins:

11, 11, 12, 8, 9, 11, 13, 10, 10, 8

All done while playing in the SECW at a time when the SECW has been more powerful then at any other time in it's history.

It's fine to make troll like post bout LSU on this forum, apparently, but when your posting discredits the above type LSU success, you are just playing the part of a SEC college football fool and playing it well I might add.

Blatant shite-stirrers like you will never acknowledge the effects from the early departures of Eric Reid, Kevin Minter, Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and Jeremy Hill.

You think the 2013 defense would have allowed 40 points to Georgia with Reid in the secondary and Mingo and Montgomery on the line?

You think we would have let MSU and Auburn rush at will with Freak and Ego clogging the middle?

You think we would have failed to score against Arkansas with Juice, OBJ, and Hill?

Fact is, Miles is unequaled in recruiting and development, to the point that his players are NFL-ready after only three years. As a result, he doesn't get the benefit of reaping his fruits at the pinnacle of their success.

Choctaw, not me and I love Les and want him to win and keep LSU on top until he retires.

No one can argue with the overall record Miles has at LSU and I am starting to believe the unhappy fans are unhappy with the way LSU wins ugly and how we lose the close games.

I guess fans walk away or turn off the TV upset with a last minute win by a few points or remember the time management issues years ago and cannot let it go.

Right now LSU is on the verge of a 3rd great recruiting class in a row and national title hope is within our grasp. LSU will never be a up tempo team like A&M under Miles and this is what the unhappy fans want.

Me I want wins, a few SEC titles and a BCS appearance or two every decade.

We all piss and moan bout coaches, offenses, defenses, QBs, kickers, and what not, but at the end of the day...what college football program has offered more of the above than LSU during the past 15 yrs???

I have no problem over not liking Miles or Saban for this reason or that reason, but when that dislike gets to the point that some cant even enjoy, apparently, LSU football success that has reached Top 1-3 program level nationally for the past 15 yrs., well, that's just sad for those holding those type feelings. imo

We all know that 1 out of 10 will return. These guys are going to the league and their replacements are going to the league as well. You basically have to prepare to only have those guys on campus for 3 years. If you see a trend get in front of it. You can't keep using that as an excuse. These guys are 3 and done

8-4... if you think we're beating auburn, alabama and arkansas, then you're insane.... and we'll likely lose one of the other conference games.

Leslie is a 10-2 coach with superior talent, but the talent gap between LSU and the other SEC west schools and florida has been closing the last three years...plus LSU has a mostly new defensive staff this year and we're still using quarterbacks that are a bad fit for the type of plays that cam calls... if you think this is enough to beat bama auburn and arkansas this year, then you're a fool.

just a question, what does his total wins have to do with playing in the sec west? why not go sec wins or sec record?

Winston318 and CptBengal get a chubby reading this, but it's the typical moron talk from the media every offseason.

He's not near a coaching hot seat even though a portion of the totally ridiculous and out of touch with reality fanbase believe he is and want him to be.

I actually want CLM to be successful. But at somepoint he is going to have to change something that he's doing because it's not working. Other programs in the West are on the incline. Getting more talent is not the answer. LSU always has talent just look at the Tigers in the league. Get a handle on this offense and become less predictable and his job will be fine. Continuing on this path and the best divisional finish if lucky will be 3rd

there is much bull shite in the offseason. I am defining bull shite as people writing stuff that they know absoulutely NOTHING about. Miles job is very secure. that, of course, is subject to change but miles will never be fired at LSU. that's right, les miles will certainly leave LSU one day, but he will initiate the move.

Passing
Well he just got a QB coach finally in 2013 after going from 2007-2012 without one. I think people should give Cam more than one year before they judge his coaching considering he hasn't coached a college QB since Randle El. He was dealing with a dual threat QB who has only played two years of organized football prior, and a QB that he didn't even recruit. They were also dealing with zero experience at the WR spot. Seriously, go look back at some of the games and you'll see a ton of drops, wrong routes, no seperation, and no fight for the ball.

How in the the world could the passing game get any worse considering how bad it was last year? The WRs are improved and a lot of their problems last year had to do with experience. Harris has now had some playing time plus will get first team snaps during fall practice. Jennings is in his 3rd year, and the OL is getting more athletic and has a year of experience in the new scheme.

Talent
The talent is getting way higher. You don't follow recruiting so you don't understand. The high school talent is actually getting much, much better. Our 2014 and 2015 class was actually better than any of our classes since 2009. High school talent has only been about 3rd or 4th best in the SEC the past 5 years. Our record has been #2 in the SEC the past 5 years.

LSU was suffering from two many young players leaving at any early clip to reload. We lost 5 future rookie NFL starters on offense (plus Blue, and Boone) and our offense crashed. The year prior we lost our our entire starting DL, a 5th at backup, our All SEC MLB, (those included our top FIVE pass rushers), plus our best secondary player, and our int leader. The defense fell off. Had we had a cake schedule like FSU, we'd be undefeated or at the very least 12-1 in conference.

2015 Season
We have our most returning starters since 2011 (15) and that's minus Jennings. We have averaged 12.4 returning starters the past 5 years, which was one of the lowest among the FBS. LSU is just as likely to finish second in the West and 10-2 as anybody else. Everybody else has QB problems and defensive losses, so who cares if they are on an incline, we are too.
