CLM benefited for 11 years from a side of the ball he had nothing to do with

When you look back at CLM's career his record is misleading. If not for our great defenses CLM would have been gone long ago. Except for 2013 we never saw a good Offense and that's his side of the ball. The first time this showed up was in 2008 after Pelini left and we were stuck with Doug Mallory and Peveto as Co DC's. That was for 1 season and then Chavis was brought in. So basically without Pelini and Chavis CLM would have been finished at LSU years ago. Those 2 should be credited with 95 of CLM's 110 wins

GTFO. You can say he's not a great coach now, but you don't just stumble into 11 years of almost 80% wins in this division.

ETA: And not surprisingly you're getting a lot of upvotes. This place is full of idiots.

Who hired those coaches? Part of the job as head coach is hiring assistants. 2006 and 2007 offenses were very good. 2008 wasn't bad outside of the pick sixes. 2011 was a very good offense that averaged over 30 a game when they weren't playing Bama so that is 12 out of 14. Sorry don't let all this logic and facts get in your way.

He's only 65% vs. ranked opponents. 06 and 07 were his two best offenses. His offenses have averaged #55 in total offense while the defense has averaged #14.

This is exactly what I keep telling people. Then a lot of people point and say, "What about 2011?"

In 2011, this was especially the case. When you think back to just how good that defense was, it made our offense become optional, and the only game we needed our offense, it was completely exposed that we in fact had none.

With TM7 back there forcing turnovers, scoring defensive touchdowns, giving short fields, along with unbelievable punt returns, the occasional KO return, etc. it is pretty wild to think that our offense wouldn't be able to succeed.

Some of the biggest games where we scored a ton, we got special teams and defensive touchdowns. Oregon: Honey Badger TD. WVU: Mo Claiborne kick return TD/ Mathieu interception to the 1 yard line. Arkansas: Mathieu PR TD/forced fumble. UGA: 2 huge Mathieu punt returns sparked an otherwise inept day on the offensive side of the ball.

Miles hasn't had that same spark in his team for a long time. It's time for change.

ETA: This doesn't mean Miles doesn't deserve credit...he absolutely does! Had it not been for some of his bat shite crazy calls in 2007, there's no shot we would have made it to the national championship. But at this point, we've gone as far as we can with Les, IMO.

Bertman and Alleva just like Bertman forced Jimbo on him.

Irrelevant number is irrelevant.

OK.

And? I was unaware there was only one way to win a football game. We don't play in a league that puts up video game scores.

Can we get a true winning percentage that pertains to the SEC? All these cupcakes inflated his "80%" win.

And do this for every coach since retard LSU fans think LSU is the only team that plays "cupcakes"

Guess we could say the same thing about Bama in 2011 then, since they could only muster 6 points in 4 quarter and an overtime. I hate when facts ruin a good Miles bashing.

the logic some of y'all use to discredit Miles is hilarious

defense sucks = Miles makes bad hires

defense helps him win = Miles doesn't get credit for those wins, it was the DC

He just will not get any credit in many people's eyes and that is sad.

A post in another thread sums it up perfectly.
