Clement is looking really lost in the passing game.

He really looks like he is struggling to get out quickly and find open spots in the zone. I think Mett would like to give him a few more shots, but he didn't get open much against Auburn. This is another position I wish we had a few more options at.

No he is a run game specialist and good at it too. I'm just greedy wishing we had a guy that was good at both sides of the offense.

Don't even get me started on Brad Wing's holding. He's tilting the ball to left, but Alleman is right footed and needs a tilt to the right.

Les has never featured the tight end much in the passing game. Les does like to use tight ends to block. If he gets a pass thrown to him every other game Clement should be happy.

If he doesn't get the ball to desean smith in the coming years, the rant will lose it

This shouldn't surprise anyone. All offseason we saw how mediocre we were at TE with catching passes. They are just a bunch of blockers, or guys that still need a little more time to come along in the passing game (Jacobs, Gordon).

I was just hoping that 4 games into his senior year he would have improved some and was looking more comfortable. Didn't happen. Not a big deal.

Take a look at the athletes we had at tight end and how little we utilized them. Clement has hands of steel and is clearly a defensive end turned tight end with the hands of a defensive end. He is barely a blocking tight end, has always been very soft in my eyes.

That's Les Miles football. I'm amazed that these top TE prospects even want to some to LSU.

Their talent is completely wasted with the current coaching staff.

The tight ends need to improve. I love how people always crticize others for finding a flaw in our team. Newsflash you have to be good in all positions to win it all.

Yeah it is almost as though the recruits and those around them are evaluating the success and taking the word of an SEC/NC title winning coach over the football experts on the rant!

Damn what is the world coming to!

I'd just be happy is he could stay in his stance until the ball is snapped.

The kid is a defensive end. He is a competent blocker, but he is not an effective receiver. Teams can load up the box on us due to the lack of dynamic receivers.

He is best when helping Josh D with speedy defensive ends.

This isnt exactly true.
JL favored him and as far as him having bad hands... there are people (WR's I might add) that are WAY in front of CC in the line of players with pass dropping problems.
I dont worrry about Clement dropping balls, I do howerver worry about pretty much the rest of them.. ie.. Shep, OBjr ect
Plus the dude looks like a bad arse.

Yes because he stoned the two passes that have been thrown to him so far this year

Who is not looking lost in the passing game either with not getting separation or being able to hold on to the ball.

FWIW if you go back and watch some of the replays of the games, you will find that he is open on just about every route he runs. Mett is just not seeing him or not pulling the trigger to throw it his way. Now add in the fact that we are giving up so much pressure from the outside, he will be lucky if he catches 10 passes this year.
