Will enjoy seeing these guys anchor the line for the next 3 years. So what happened with Boutte? Miles couldn't stop talking about him all off-season and then the freshman takes over?

Camouflaging a weakness perhaps? Either way, I'm happy with the line and how they are performing, we haven't passed much, but when we do I haven't seen much pressure.

In my office, our desk are in a huge circle and everbody has a different favorite SEC team over here, starting with me and going around clockwise

LSU
Texas AM
Ole Miss
Arkansas (This guy swears Arkansas still has the best oline)
Alabama
Missouri

So it'll be an interesting season, hope we survive it

All power, with little finesse.

Boutte was slow off the snap several times in the MSU game, leading to plays getting stuffed. This is correctable with practice. I think as much as anything, Teuhema is simply better.

Clapp looks like his shoulders are 8 feet across.

If Maea stays healthy, he’ll be a top 15 draft pick in 3 years. I haven’t been impressed by a true freshman OL at LSU like that since Ben Wilkerson. He is an elite talent and I am so glad we got him.

Any time Miles praises a player in the offseason it really means they are playing like shite.

If Boutte didn't look good in the spring game, you would have a point. It wasn't just Miles or Frank Wilson hyping him. State's interior defensive line is legit & it just showed Boutte that he has be fundementally sound along with his extreme strength. You can be strong & still lose the battle in the trenches as a player if you aren't technically sound especially with your footwork. He needs to learn how to "carry" his feet underneath him. (Yeah, I know that sounds cliché & corny as frick but it's the truth.)

So you're thinking it's more of him understanding the fundamentals? Hopefully Grimes lights a fire under his arse. Oline Depth is very important, especially in our style of football

Just watch Maea play and you will see what happen. He made a mistake and got bench for a younger player that is better.

His problems are all mental. He continues to make mental errors and miss assignments. For all his physical talent, he just can't lock down the mental game.

Yes. You can teach fundamentals & improve them with practice. Some players just learn faster than others which sounds like the case here with Teuhema.

What you can't teach is brute strength & Boutte has that. If he can get his footwork right, he'll be a dominant guard eventually. He got handled by State's Chris Jones pretty good though. No shame in that though. Jones is damn good DT.

One of the first few big runs of the game I clearly saw Clapp help Pocic with the DLineman and then get to the second level and wipe out the linebacker. It was an impressive block.

I was wondering how he was doing

We haven't seen much of our 2nd string, how much of a drop off do you think we'll see from our 1's to 2's?

Him coming back would be nice because he's the captain of the offensive line but he's damn good man. Maybe he comes back to play to play LT in 2016 to increase his earning potential in the NFL though. He won't earn as much if goes into the draft as a center. His versatility is his greatest asset though.
