We went in 2005. There were places to park for the game downtown that only costs $5 then and a fleet of busses took you to the stadium. After the game the busses were lined up outside and brought you back. We stayed at the Disney Hilton and were back there about 45 minutes after the game.it really worked well and I would think they still do that

I went to the ACC Championship game Saturday night there. It's a much nicer stadium, but remains in the ghetto. They are building a new soccer stadium nearby so the whole area is going through gentrification.
IMO - the gates and sections of the stadium are poorly marked for it being brand new.

It is 11:00am EST.
The reason it is so early is because the national semifinals follow the game. Great exposure on one of the biggest college football days of the year.

Yes, the area around there is not the best. Went both times LSU was there. Stadium was nice.

Does anyone still play at that baseball stadium?

That's cool and all but I still will never forgive them for that piece of shite field they made us play on. They should have lost the right to hold a bowl game after that

I went in 2005 (Saban's last game). Had a great time except for the last second loss. It's not a great area but glad they improved the stadium. However, if I recall correctly, there weren't any hotels convenient to the stadium back then.

I got to see the last play collapse of a Saban defense.

Tinker Field is actually torn down. It was somewhat controversial to tear it down because MLK had spoken there in 1964. They agreed to put some kind of marker/monument to that affect nearby.

Baseball stadium torn down. It's a park with a "memorial plaque."

Gotta be better than that LSU/Penn State game! The stadium was character-less piece of steel. And enough's been said about that old field of mud. All that being said I'm sure it's much nicer.

We parked just south of the stadium at Jones High School. Short walk and with all the buses taking the fans there it was an easy out after the game.

Hopefully you'll get nicer weather. In that freezing rain we had I lost a watch and a cell phone to moisture.

I was there too, and in defense of the city/stadium ... it was the perfect storm. Played state championship games there (8) and always re-sod after that weekend. We had an record amount of rain that December and the turf never rooted. It was just a freak occurrence. FYI, it was the first time in the history of the Citrus Bowl that it had ever rained for the bowl game.

I will never go back after the 2009 mud bowl vs. Penn State. That was their fault. Three games were played on the field that week, and it should have never been re-sodded.

I don't care that it's turf now. No forgiveness at this point in time.

Just an FYI, we are on the East side of the stadium, so that would be the "right" side in the OP graphic at the top. At 11:00 everyone will be in the sun, so that won't matter in selecting seats. It's a beautiful stadium. Totally rebuilt from the ground up.

Went this year for the FSU Ole Miss game. It was really really nice. Great sight lines. Security was a cluster, but the stadium was nice and clean. Had a blast.

If I remember correctly wasn't there also another minor college bowl game there one week before?

Edit: Yes, it was the Tangerine Bowl with Clemson and colorado
