Who is Chris Landry and why should I care about his opinion?

Longtime NFL scout and consultant, LSU alum. Worked for Belichek in Cleveland, and was coordinator of the nfl combine for some time also.

He talks about how in the past Les has won because

of superior talent, and never by out scheming his

opponents. Compares Les to Fulmer at Tennessee,

and he says we will steadily decline unless Les

changes or recruits better.

What is his username on the rant?

His credentials are legit, but I do find his opinions biased in favor of those he has ties with and against those he does not.

Saban uses him, friends from Cleveland staff.

All in all, Landry was pretty accurate in his accessments, especially the line problems

The pumpers still don't care about credentials. There are more than just Landry that says similar things and they still don't care. Until their eyes are opened they won't care

Basically a nice way of saying Les and Chavis are not good coaches without superior talent. No one can deny this. Les is not a good coach. He's been a good recruiter over the years but a lot of that can be attributed to Saban starting the trend of LA players staying home.

I don't know that he has directly compared in the past but if we're honest with ourselves I'm sure most NFL/scout types see Miles for what he is.

How many college coaches are great without superior talent?

Landry was spot on IMO.

The most perplexing and long term issue with Miles is clock management. I just don't get it. Maybe it's a time awareness problem. In other words 10 seconds to Miles is what 30 seconds feels to normal people. This really might be a psychological condition. Miles needs to permanently assign clock management duties to another coach. It's embarrassing.

According to Landry, Les' time management gaffes are an "embarrassment" in coaching circles.
