...or if you're telling people at work, you'll be checking your email and you'll see them after July 4th, you'll be staying in Omaha for the whole damn thing.

My philosophy is go for championship series. It can go 4 ways.
1, you go early and LSU advances but you have to leave (sad).
2 you go early and LSU gets knocked out (sad)
3. you go late and LSU is in the championship series (good)
4. you go late and LSU isn't in it but you still get to see championship ball (bad but at least you see big games)

Also obviously you can go late and LSU will lose then but I'd rather take the risk to see them win in the finals because ultimately seeing them win early but having to leave isn't worth the gamble of going later and getting the chance to see them WIN! This is my philosophy for the playoffs in football too (of course until i'm an OT Baller and can afford both). No point in seeing the early games if you can hold out for later games because if they lose at least you didn't waste the trip and if they win the payoff is even bigger.

Have one hotel reservation checking in Saturday and checking out next Wednesday.

Have another hotel reservation checking in next Wednesday and checking out next Friday.

Have another hotel reservation checking in next Friday and checking out next Sunday.

Have another hotel reservation checking in next Sunday and checking out the following Wednesday.

Will play by ear

TBH never thought of staggering the hotels that way to cancel early. Very smart. I also had Orbitz cancel and refund a hotel AFTER my reservation had already past (I started the process the day of the reservation). So now I feel good about canceling short notice in the future even if a hotel has no obligation to do so other than being nice.

Did the same thing in 2015 and kept the first two reservations and cancelled the other ones. It worked perfectly.

I'm a planner and borderline OCD about having everything lined up

So i'm assuming you drive then? Can't possibly stagger flights like that.

Yes I drove in 2015 and will be doing the same this year. Leave BR early Friday morning, stay in Kansas City Friday night to rest up and plan to be in Omaha by 10-11am Saturday morning

Going for the whole thing is really tough. It last so long. Going up for the championship series is the way to do it if you are willing to gamble on them making it that far

Yeah, the days LSU doesn't play and there is only one game, like that Wednesday in 2015, suck pretty bad. I did laundry that day and went to the bar then walked to watch the Florida-Virginia game that night(I think that's who played)

If LSU wins the first two this year, they are off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so i have no idea what I'll do those days. There will be two games that Tuesday but Wednesday and Thursday will suck, and then there will be two games that Friday.

Parking near TD Am. ...how is it? Can you park once and then hit other venues besides the ballpark? Looking at hotel options. Last time we went TD Am wasn't up yet

I spent the whole time there in 2009. 13 nights total. It was a grind for sure. Too many days off with nothing to do.
