I think this horse has been beat to death but this is really my only complaint about people being happy Chavis is gone. Most of your DCs are in their 50's. Bud Foster is 2 years younger than Chavis. My point is production has less to do with age than many suggest. What exactly is an aging CEO? My guess would be someone in their 70's?

Chavis is 57 years old

Bumpas is 65 years old

Phil Bennett is 59 years old

ETA: Chavis looks old and unhealthy but that's because he is a Cheif

Chavis is near retirement from the looks of it. That's the only thing about age that is concerning to aggys.

I just hope he uses the extra money aTm is paying him to invest in some quality brassieres so he can keep his saggy man tits from showing through his shirts.

He took a retirement package and let A&M pay for it.

Mandatory retirement age at GE for everyone including CEO (Jack Welch) is 65, many large public companies are the same.

Not sure Age matters, but Energy Level and ability to relate to 20 year olds matters.

According to your theory, Dick LeBeau should've hung it up in 1995.

I don't really think it is a question of age. It is that Chavis seemed inert. He coached from the box and never went out recruiting. Since we need a new DC, what is wrong with looking for someone who can bring some energy to the program?

There's no need to kick the guy on his way out. He got frustrated with the lack of production from the Offense and it is fully understandable.

It shouldn't be tolerated, yet for some reason it is. We have the athletes, we have the coaching budget...yet Offensive failure is rewarded at LSU.

Our Offensive production given our athletes and coaching budget is unacceptable and should not be allowed.

Since 2009 the best we have finished in total offense was #40?

I mean, think about the talent and pros on offense during that time.

Mandatory retirement has been illegal since 1986.
